No programs

Is anyone NOT doing programs? I am deciding if I should bother or not.

I don't know yet... you don't NEED them.
But I have some good websites with templates. It seems easy enough, and imexpensive, for me to do it myself and it will add a nice touch. So I think I will probably do them.

not doing them..I liked the idea of them, FH thought it was 'hokey' and it was getting to be too much for me to handle...so I skipped 'em

I'm not doing them.. I honestly don't think I have enough stuff too put in one without it looking empty.

Re: No programs

I think they add a nice touch and give a 'who's who' in the ceremony. I also want to do them to create some kind of 'theme'. But they are something that can be totally omitted if one is pressed for time...

Re: No programs

i did them but although i enjoyed making them and happy that i did, it wasn't worth the effort since my brother got there late and a lot of guests never got them. Plus, I know many people had them, but no one commented on them. If you don't have the time or the desire to do them, don't bother. I realized after my wedding that i did so much planning and creating, etc. that when the day came, i was so worried that it all would look nice, etc. and it just didn't matter. The day flew by and it's all a blurred memory. I just got my video, though, and i love how everything looked, but i know no one else cared. The music and food are the main concern of anyone attending a wedding and that was incredible so all else went unnoticed!

My mom doesn't really like them, she thinks it makes the wedding too much of a 'show' but I think I'm going to do them anyway. Since we're having a mixed ceremony (Jewish and Catholic) I think it would be nice to explain some of the things we'll be doing and their meaning.

I'm not........

I figured since I am not having a church wedding or any readings, etc. during my ceremony that the program was a waste.

JMO though

We're doing them b/c it's where we're putting everyone's name and relationship to us from the bridal party. We also included a note from us to everyone and ours are really simple so it's easy enough. I think it's a total personal opinion though.

I'm not doing them. I was thinking about it but, I decided against it. I am just having a ceremony and I don't want to spend the time on that when I can spend it somewhere else.

Re: No programs

As of now I am doing them for 3 reasons.

1-so I can make some relatives program attendants

2-so I can mention our deceased family memebrs

3- because I like to play with fonts & paper.

Re: No programs

All the weddings I went to had program and I missed seeing one. I HAVE to do it because personally it tells you who's who in the party which I feel is important and gives honor to who supports you. I bought paper from Staples for $9 and I'm doing it on my computer and copy them at work.

I am going to do them, and make them myself also. It will make me feel proud and creative for the guests, since I have a few good thoughts in mind
