A friend from work said she was coming to my shower this weekend. She was the only no-show. (No phone call that day or at any point, no card, no nothing...). She's at work today, though I haven't seen her yet. Do I say something?

Re: no-show at my shower - do I say something?
yeah - just don't make it come across as an attack - I'd be more like 'what happened saturday? we missed you!'

If it were me, I'd just say something like 'so, we missed you at the shower the other day!', nice and casual, and see what she says.

I'd say something like skank, don't even think about showing your face at my wedding. Try that.

I would just ask her. Somethin gmight have happened and she couldn't make it and didn't have a chance to get to a phone. You never know.

see if she'll bring it up first, which she should. If not then i agree with casually bringing it up.

I agree with Jess!
No just kidding -- I would casually bring it up like the other girls mentioned. Or start with is 'Is Everything OK -- we missed you at the shower' -- as embarassing as it is she could have forgot or got her dates mixed up and thinks it is coming up and then might not say anything because she hasn't even realized she missed it.
Yes this has happened to me.
Then if she gives you some lame horrible excuse then -- go with Jess' strategy!

Re: no-show at my shower - do I say something?
Update: Spoke to her at lunch today. She says she was really sick (she was out of work a day or two last week) and I guess I believe her... I don't want to think she intentionally forgot or just decided against going. She didn't mention anything about my gift, which I thought was strange. (If you had every intention of going to a shower and couldn't at the last minute, you'd have bought something, right? )
I just hope she doesn't do that at the wedding! I

I think she still should have called to say she wasn't coming. And why didn't she bring the gift to work for you?
