I have to tell FH that I got into a car accident with his car today
I am OK but this retired PO decided to make a U-turn (right under a sign that says no U-turn) and hit the back of his brand new car. Didn't even break 5k on the car yet

Re: :( no TGIF for me
OK $550.00 in damage. It was never the car that he was truly worried about it was his perfect record and ridiculously low insurance. FH is a little neurotic about that and his credit.
So now we are just waiting for the guy to call us back and tell us OK or not.

Wow, $550 in damage? You got lucky! My car was hit while parked (I was in the store grocery shopping!) and had $1900 in damage. The car had only 3000 miles on it. ARGH! How frustrating that some idiot can ruin your day like that.

Re: :( no TGIF for me
OK This SOB is not paying. We tell him the price. He tells us too high. We got 2 other estimates $800.00 each. He is harrassing me and telling me that I am at fault that he made a u-turn in the middle of 110 where it says no u-turn. He is telling me I should have been able to see him and that I should have been able to stop but he hit me on my rear quarter panel-- UGH!
Not only that but we have a $500 deductible and we are going to be out that 2 months before our wedding!
Then we found out Canada Dry is on strike today and since FH works for Pepsi and they are under the same union guess who else is one strike as of today.
It truly does not stop!

Sounds like its time for you to file a police report about what happend to apply some pressure on this jerk. Your insurance company should also be able to help you chase him down, after all they don't want to pay the money either.

I agree, now it's time to go the police report/through insurance route. If there a time frame to report an accident? IOW, if you had the accident over the weekend, is it OK to wait until Thursday to report it??
I'm glad to hear that you are OK. Everything else will be fine, too.

Amityville PD has a blotter report because I called them to the scence. He didn't want me to but I did that anyway. We have 10 days from the date of the accident to make it into an official report.
