Is anyone using any non-floral centerpieces for a spring or summer wedding? Or have any good ideas?
I'm trying to come up with ideas that would cost a lot less then doing flowers, but I still want a summer time vibe from the decorations - besides a beach theme, I'm trying to stay away from that.
TIA for any ideas :)

Non-Floral Centerpieces
I almost did these candelabras, still think it's a beautiful idea! Though not really a summer theme...just throwing it out there! Good luck.
I am thinking of doing floating pillar candles. So far I have been getting outrageous prices from florists though so idk I may either buy them on my own and the RH said they will set up if simple enough or go another route.

I'm not sure what your RH looks like, but I was thinking of maybe doing birdcages, or lanterns with candles in them. Kohls had big lanterns on clearance last week. I think they would look rally pretty on teh center of the table.

I know a few girls that have uses these from Bed Bath and Beyond. They are $19.99 for the set of 3 and you could do a floating candle or a ball candle or even a regular small pillar and even throw in some pretty colored rocks on the bottom. Looked very elegant with rose petals scattered around the bottom. I'm actually using them on my memorial table. You can use the 20% off coupons on each set as well to bring the price down even more.
I am not using any flowers...I am doing all raw branches and non flowering greenery (severe allergies...have started to order supplies to see what looks best..will put in tall cylinder vases that I am painting blue on the inside..and then will do a swirl frost on the outside...go on www.save-on-crafts.com...afforadable and full of ideas..also have great prices on real touch flowers which is what I have to use if I decide I want some flowers they are amazing

I'm afraid to do raw branches for mine because it will be in July and I wanted to keep a summer time feel. That sounds really pretty though, and I can relate to having severe allergies, it sucks! I will def check out that website too. Thanks!

Non-Floral Centerpieces
What about 3 different sized glass cylinders, some rocks or crystals at the bottom, then a stem of denrobium orchids and a floating candle on top. Buy the cylinders, candles and rocks in bulk from a wholesale floral shop. Then the dendros are not that expensive and you only need 1 stem for each vase. They are usually no more than $2.50 a stem, but sometimes cheaper. Or even silk stem of flowers. Most won't even know if it is floating in water. GL!!!

Re: Non-Floral Centerpieces
look in my albums for things that are for sale...half of my CP's were the floating candles with silk flowers in them. To give you an idea.

Re: Non-Floral Centerpieces
I collected many different size and shape pieces of milk glass and then I ordered bulk flowers from fiftyflowers.com and put them in the vases. I also had these little white hanging lanterns in them.
If you are willing to order flowers and assemble something more simple yourself, you can have fresh flowers for very little money. I did all of our CPs for around $150. The ones in this pic are more simple, but we had these big bowls packed with coral roses too. They looked really professional and my sister and I did them with some floral foam and flowers we bought on the internet.

I was actually seriously considering this, but went in another direction. It definitely seems like something that can be done yourself for a lot less than a florist would do. Just make sure to check with your RH and see who would be setting your CP's up...sometimes the RH will do it, but if its not through a florist, you may need to enlist someone to go there and decorate for you.
BTW here's the inspiration pic I had for the submerged CP's. Depending on the color/type of flowers, they could def have a summer vibe, I think.

I was also looking for centerpieces with floating candles and the prices were crazy! I think the lowest quote I got so far was $85 for the set of 3. This is a great find! Thanks for sharing!
I went to a florist today who told me that she will set them up for free (if I buy the candles and holders quickcandles.com I can get 20 centerpieces for $319 - includes shipping! I am getting 3 floating pillar candles and votives). All I am buying are the orchids from her and my personal flowers. My venue did say they would most likely have no problem setting it up but then I worried that what is said now, won't happen 8 months from now. So knowing she will do it gives me peace of mind.

Non-Floral Centerpieces
I am doing different centerpieces on each table - Bird houses, Bird cages (with flowers in them), lanterns, etc. I have a whimsical garden theme.
