Okay so we are getting down to the wire and now my bridesmaids are saying they can't pay for hair and makeup. They claim they wanna do their own. I have gotten very good prices for both hair and makeup and they al think its too much. 120 for updo with makeup and 80 for a blowout with makeup. We understand its a lot so we are willing to cover half which is more than we can afford and they still are hesitating to do it. We also understand that bridesmaids spend a lot but we are also giving a lot. Their dresses were under 200 which I feel is good. I purchashed their shoes, I purchased their day off jewerly and I purchased gifts for them as well. So basically all they have done is paid for their dresses. Its 3 weeks till my wedding and I am beginning to get highly pissed. They aren't professionals and I don't believe hair and makeup should be taken lightly for weddings. I don't know what to do anymore. We can't afford to pay for it in full but I don't want my bridal party looking all crazy either. Its bad enough one of the girls gained 2 sizes and wasn't able to fit in her dress and to fix it was going to cost a lot so they ended up giving her a totally different dress but in the same color. Why do people do these things to us. Us brides don't deserve this. We are under a lot of stress and do a lot.

I'm letting my BMs do what they want. I'm paying for their manis and pedis, but it's up to them if they want to get their hair and m/u done. I'm paying for my sister's (MOH) and I know one of my BMs is getting hers done on her own. The others will probably do their own and I'm totally content with that. I can't force them to spend more money. And honestly? They'll look fine for the pictures. The focus is on the bride and groom anyway, not the bridal party.

Honestly.. it wouldn't bother me. It's not like they are saying they are going to do my hair.
If they want to do their own hair/makeup then that's their decision. If it comes out good.. great. If it comes out horrible, that's their problem. They have to go walking around looking like that.
Imo, i wouldn't worry about it.

I am not forcing them. I am asking politely and offering to pay half. Wedding day hair and makeup isn't like everyday hair and makeup. And yes the focus is on the bride and groom but ur bridal party takes lots of pics with u. I am not having video so my pictures are a very big part of my wedding and I judt want everyone to look nice. I don't think that's a lot to ask for. Besides all they have paid for is their dress. Let's see what happens

That stinks... you paid for a lot for them and it seems like you are doing more than you should. They shouldn't be giving you this stress and worry right before your wedding. I made it clear to my BMs what they would be expected to pay for when I asked them (ie: dress, hair, and shoes) to clear up any confusion.

I should have set things straight from the beginning as well but I didn't think this had to be said regarding hair and makeup. I hope to put this to rest this week and concentrate on what's left to do. I hope it all works out

I gave my girls the option, I didn't think it was right to demand that they pay for hair and makeup.

I agree that you have been VERY accomidating with everything else but if you keep mentioning that they need/should get their hair and makeup done professionally your gonna come off as a Bridezilla. (even if your not)
Have your MOH talk to them.

See now everyone seems to think I am demanding it which I am not. Like I said I offered to pay half. If I could pay for it in full I would. 2 of my bridesmaids don't have a problem they are getting hair and makeup done. The other 2 are saying no. I just want everyone to be on the same page and look all nice that's all. I am in no way forcing them if they decide not to then nothing I can do. I am just trying to convince them being that its 19 days till the wedding. I really didn't think this would be a problem. What gets me the most is that they have been in other bridal parties and have paid to get their hair done. So I don't understand what's the difference now. I know that things are bad financially for everyone but it just feels like ny wedding is an inconvinience for everyone financially

My MOH livesd in virginia and is coming down the day before the wedding. My bridal party doesn't really know each other except for the 2 girls that don't wanna do their hair and makeup. I hope they don't think I am being bridezilla because I really am not. If they decide on doing their own hair there is nothing I can do but please let me know what style ur doing and colors of makeup so that we can all be on the same page. The reason I posted this was so that I won't go bridezilla on them lol. I felt it was better to get ideas and advice from u girls than flipping out on them. Thanks
