After going to my 4th place dress shopping yesterday, I've come to the conclusion that I have no IDEA what I want.
I tried on a Judd Waddell yesterday that I LOVE at Kleinfeld's. Its the one with banded lace and tulle.
Then I went to Bridal Reflections and tried on a little of everything and loved a Romona Keveza chiffon gown.
I can't decide if I go traditional (Judd) or romantical (chiffon) because once I tried on that Romona, it brought me back to a chiffon Mon Cheri that I tried at the Bridal Garden that I LOVED. It was like a greek goddess dress.
So what do you think? Were there gowns you stayed away from because you wanted something traditional or did you end up with a dress you didn't expect??

Re: Non Traditional Wedding Gowns...
I found BOTH of my dresses online 'formal' & 'party'....I used theknot site to search several hundred....But when I saw it - I knew....Then the challenge was to track down a sample dress....not so easy....for both - tried them on & bought them! I never went 'salon' shopping per se...thank god! Hope that helps...

Re: Non Traditional Wedding Gowns...
I TOTALLY ended up with a dress that I NEVER in my wildest dreams thought I would wear on my wedding day. I always knew i didn't want the traditional white or ivory dress but the style of my dress is not something i thought i would get or look good in. But when i tried it on i FELL IN LOVE AND my mom CRIED.
I'm not a traditional lady. I looked at dresses that fit my personality, plus I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a dress I would only wear once. Go with what you feel is right it your day.

Re: Non Traditional Wedding Gowns...
i knew i didnt want traditional ballgown styles but i tried them on anyway.....they make my short torso look even shorter. so then i tried on all the different shapes until i found the most flattering one. then i focused on which material was the most flatering. i also knew that i didnt like too much embelishment.....so i ended up with a simple silk satin, asymetrical a-line gown. its def not traditional...but its not TOO modern where i'm breaking the mold. :)
in the end i think you sould pick what makes you feel the most beautiful and reflects your style. it doesnt necessarily need to be 'modern' or 'traditional'.

Re: Non Traditional Wedding Gowns...
i knew i wanted something a bit more more fitting, but i didnt go as sexxxy as i thought i would have... so its not traditional in the sense that it isnt the typical ballgown, pickup type gown... but still wedding enough that it wont shock people LOL
