Love my Nook!!! I like the fact that you can go into B&N or the library and 'borrow' a book

Re: Nook -vs- Kindle??
i have the new kindle and love it. it's soooo lightweight and easy to use.
i don't know much about the nook, except that it's a bit heavier than the kindle.

Thanks Girls! How much is it to buy a book on either the Nook or Kindle? So you can borrow a book... do you still pay??

on the kindle, you buy books through the Amazon bookstore. price depends on the book though and they sometimes have free ones.

Re: Nook -vs- Kindle??
On the Nook you can read for free in the BN stores (some titles) and some publishers allow you to 'lend' your book for 2 weeks at a time to friends with Nooks.

Most of the books on BN are about $9.99. The cost for books is pretty comparible between amazon and bn

Re: Nook -vs- Kindle??
I have the middle Kindle, not the newest but not the oldest and let me just tell you...I LOOOOOVE MY KINDLE!! I've never read so much in my life. The books are usually cheaper than in the stores but it is a pain in the butt that you can't just 'swap' books, unless you take someone else's actual nook or kindle.
Enjoy!!!

Re: Nook -vs- Kindle??
i'm gonna be a pain and say that you should ask for an ipad ... they have a Kindle for iPad app so you can read books on there ... and then there are cool extra features on there
but it is a fairly large price difference so it may not be worth it to you.
kindles start at $139 ... ipads start at $450

I have a kindle and I love it! I figured out a way to download books for free using torrents...
I also get the New Yorker subscription for only $3 a month, you get a issue every week!

Re: Nook -vs- Kindle??
Honestly, I think at this point, they are both fairly similar. I personally have the Nook and I LOVE it. I like that when I have questions, I can just go to B&N and ask, and I like the Lend feature. To be honest though, I have heard nothing but good things about Kindle as well. I think until there is a MAJOR difference between them...you are safe with either one
