North Ritz Brides

Do you think they have enough grounds for pictures, or would you go somewhere else?

My fiance and I are seeing each other before the ceremony...Should we go to North Ritz and then the ceremony and then back to North Ritz, or go somewhere else, then ceremony then to North Ritz for more pictures???

While I think that the North Ritz has really nice beautiful grounds, for me I don't LOVE the grounds enough to want to have my pics taken there, so we are taking our pics after the ceremony at the Old Westbury Gardens. But that is just my personal opinion. I am WOWED by a lot of the pics I have seen taken at the Old Westbury Gardens and I want the same for my pics!

I love the Westbury Gardens too. They are too far from my church (in Seaford) I would go to the gardens behind SUNY Farmingdale...I just am torn. I can't decide if there are enough grounds there.

I think I'm having all of my pics taken at the North Ritz. My ceremony is there as well. I think its more meaningful to have the pics taken where the wedding actually happened. And I know on my wedding day I don't want to be running around everywhere so I'm just going to go there before the ceremony and take the pictures. I've seen pictures taken at Westbury Gardens and they are beautiful though.

M- I felt the same way as you and I was not sure that I would get the pics I wanted at the NRC. Although the grounds are beautiful, in my heart I really want my pics to be taken at the OWG.
Whatever you decide I'm sure your pics will be beautiful!

I have some lovely pictures at the NRC taken by Imagine but I would go someplace else as well --- nice variety for pictures. I went to the Oakdale Arboretum b/f the ceremony, than St. Patrick's Church in Baysore and finally the NRC.

I would say go to a park of something as well -- a lot more variety.

Here are some pics taken at the NRC:

I heard that people go to EAB Plaza to take pictures in doors...

If you have the time and feel like going off the grounds - go for it.

I was thinking about taking pictures at a park closer to my church (it was late fall and a late afternoon cermony so the photographer was worried about lack of daylight). At the last minute we made the decision to head straight to NRC...it rained that morning and the whole day before so we were afraid that the park would be too muddy. Wound up the pictures I took on the grounds of NRC were gorgeous! I love them and wish I had more (but my BM's were complaining it was too cold!). It was late fall and the fall colors in the trees were so vibrant....But be careful if it is a windy day. In the middle of my pictures, being helpful someone on staff turned on the fountain - and the wind blew and we got wet (light mist) - nothing bad - more comical - we have on video everyone screaming turn it off!!

A good photographer will know how to make the most out of the grounds that exist and the gorgeous spiral staircase (I wish I had better pictures using the stairs!)....

Good Luck!
