Re: North Ritz Brides

the only thing that i am bummed about is that there may be a wedding in the morning/afternoon, which means that i wont be able to get there until 5:15 pm for my 6:00 ceremony. what are the chances that the wedding before will end exactly on time?!

We have to sign the ketubah and then we wont have time for any pictures before the ceremony, so my fh and i are planning on seeing each other before the ceremony to take pictures at the westbury gardens, which of course, is just more money to spend.

i am hoping that they dont book an afternoon wedding on my day (nov 21, 2004) but, knowing my luck, they probably will!

Re: North Ritz Brides

Grooveypeg-not to upset you but I am having a daytime wedding at the NRC and the reception is not over until 6pm (1-6) (October 2003). What they will probably do is not let the day wedding (if there is one) book those hours but have them book 12-5.
Just thought I would mention this to you so maybe you could ask Ida/Gus/Dennis to make sure of this.
I love the room downstairs for the ceremony!! It will be beautiful!

Re: North Ritz Brides

is the chilean sea bass really gone

it is my favorite fish!! i think they may replace it with tilapia- i had it at the tasting in march and i really didnt care for it- i think i will go with the salmon.

Re: North Ritz Brides

i am really upset about the chilean sea bass too. I really wanted that!

I can't believe they add the gratuity to the tax and that they raised it! Is that legal? Can they do that?

My budget was figuring on each person being $3.40 cheaper which doesn't seem like alot till you times it by 150 and then it just over $500 more. I'm really mad now!!! They didn't put anything about gratuity in my contract but it says it on my menu. Do you think I could get away with 15%?

Re: North Ritz Brides

I could be one of the next brides, June 8th! 47 days to go.

Re: North Ritz Brides

Wow, only 48 more days! I can't wait to hear all about it! I'm so excited for you. Are you getting nervous? Is it a day or night wedding? If night, what time are you starting?

Re: North Ritz Brides

they put the gratuity on my contract when we signed, so i would check with whomever you booked with.

for those not using house vendors for music and photography etc, are you considering the meals as a part of the tip? its $42.50 to feed each non preferred vendor. i figured that i am spending an extra $550 to feed all of my vendors (8 band, 3 photos and 2 video), and i am having a hard time figuring out what to save as a tip for them.

any thoughts?

Re: North Ritz Brides

Eddy signed us and he is no longer there and Ida I can't stand so I don't know if I should just play dumb until we give them our final count.

I didn't even think about the vendors...good question! My Dj is a house vendor but my photo/video are the owners so I wasn't going to tip them just the assistant. That is what they told us to do, is that right? I have no clue on how much to tip. Maybe I'll ask shamma. She had the same video/photo. Sorry I was no help to you

Re: North Ritz Brides

It is an afternoon wedding at 12. I'm not really that nervous, most of my stuff is done, it is just getting down the little details. I'm starting to get even more excited about my honeymoon in Italy, and the house I am in contract now in Smithtown (first home).
I didn't really think about the vendor tipping yet, or paying the gratuity. Anyone want to rob a bank with me? I was supposed to have a small wedding and we invited 240 people. I don't plan to factor in the vendors meals with my tipping because I expect them to eat. I don't want cranky vendors passing out on me! I think it is a little ridiculous that they will pay for meals for vendors that they suggest you use. I was not thrilled with any of their house vendors and I checked most of them out.

I'll rob a bank with you!! LOL! I'm starting to freak out we won't have enough money!

Congrats on your new house. that must be so exciting!! Good Luck!

Re: North Ritz Brides

if the person doing the photography is the owner, doyou tip him? i have read thru out the last few months on these boards that you usually dont. why?

I am June 13 at NRC...I can't wait! Has anyone gone and picked their menu yet?
As for the 18% gratuity, it was added right on our contract - we deal with Christina, who is getting married there in June as well.
Last time we asked (which was about 3 weeks ago), the Sea Bass was still on the menu...I really hope it stays on!

Just spoke with one of my friends who is a NRC bride.... They aren't doing any construction on the property - just landscaping!
