North Ritz Tasting review (VERY LONG)
I had my tasting on Wednesday and I only have WONDERFUL things to say! first of all, the place looked fantastic. I booked in the winter and the beauty of the yard in the summer is really unbellievable. There are birds and frogs in the lake and the outside has been landscaped beautifully. The fence is up and it makes a world of difference. They also built a fence on the other side of the gazebo to block the parking lot. I was very pleased. Ida was great. We were almost an hour late, but she met us with drinks and hors devours. We had the potato puff, pigs in a blanket, asparagus wrapped with salmon, beef and chicken skewers and a potato cake with caviar....WONDERFUL!! Then we had a salad the was a combination of two salads, greens, pears, goat cheese, cranberries and walnuts. I would never have put these ingredients together but honestly, it was the best salad I've had in a long time. For dinner we tried chicken, chateau briand, and herbed salmon and horseradish crusted salmon all with different sauces. The chateau briand could be cut with a fork it was so tender. Some of the sauces were a bit much for me....I liked the lemon, the dill, the porcini, the wild mushroom. I wasn't crazy for the levornaise (sp) one with beans and artichokes, it was chunky and funky tasting. I also wasn't crazy for the red sauce (forgot the name). We spoke with the manager Dennis for a while and he seems great. All in all a GREAT experience!
