I was just wondering how many ladies have delivered or will deliver at North Shore LIJ in Manhasset. I’m looking to switch doctors and I really like what this hospital has to offer. Would you please let me know as much feedback as possible? I would greatly appreciate it. I am in dire need to switch my doctor as well as start childbirth preparation classes. I hate this in between and these feelings of uncertainty…

Re: North Shore LIJ -- Manhasset
I don't know if you know my story...I was on bedrest when I was pregnant with my daughter and I had to have and emergency cerclage put in, and I pretty much spent A LOT of time in that hospital and I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful experience I have had there each and every time.
You will not be disappointed with the staff in that hospital, the security in there is wonderful as well when you do have the baby and that is reassuring. Good Luck. HTH

Very often you can take childbirth prep classes without a specific hospital in mind and then just take a hospital tour later.

That was actually my next question. So childbirth classes can be taken just about anywhere?

Jenn - I am in the same position as you are. In between doctors since I am moving from Brooklyn to Long Island. The doctor I found is affliated with North Shore Hospitals. I wanted LIJ but I don;t know if it will be possible.
You will be happy there!! Good Luck

I gave birth 7 years ago at north shore manhasset and will again in a few months. I also have had a few dnc's done there too.. I have had only wonderful experiences there. The nurses, doctors etc.. are kind, carring and considerate. They are considered one of the best on long island. You are in good hands there

I also had a great experience. The nurses are fabulous (Hope was my favorite!) and I had a horrible roommate (her husband smelled like something you wouldn't believe) my first night and the Nurse Manager came in and agreed so she moved me to a private room.

My Dad had his kidney removed there(kidney cancer) and I know it's not the same as maternity but the hospital was wonderful
