Anyone ever been on this cruise line? Is it good for couples?

Re: Norwegian Cruise Line?
I have never been on the Norwegian cruises but everyone I know that has been on them, says that aren't the greatest cruises. Are you looking to do a cruise for your honeymoon?

Yes, we are. We are actually booked at Excellence Playa Mujeres, but everyone in FH's family are making things miserable for us because of all the turmoil in Mexico, so we are thinking of switching the HM location. We found a cruise that goes to the Mediterranean in November, perfect dates for us, but its Norwegian cruise line. It looks a little cheesy in pictures, but I am not sure....

I think I know the one you're talking about...it was repositioned from Hawaii, right? So it's all neon and surf boards in the middle of the Mediterranean!
I definitely looked into it, but then I read quite a bit about how people were spending a fortune on excursions because the dollar is so weak right now, plus a lot of the food has to be paid for with supplemental fees. We were able to get over the neon, but i didn't like the reviews.
Have you talked to a travel agent? Dawn Dorr from Cruise One (LIW vendor) specializes in cruising. She was so helpful to us, and we are doing something way out of the ordinary!
Good luck!

I've heard great things about Royal Caribbean! I'll have to check online for their cruise dates...see if anything works for us. We've only cruised Princess in the past!

Yep! We can leave any time after November 9th. I think the 8th would be cutting it close. But we are okay leaving a week or so after the wedding too. Thanks so much!

OMG we are in the same boat!!! But I just heard one of the host of a radio say it was calm and relax on that side of town. We are thinking about going on a cruise to avoid the DRAMA.
My sister went on a Norwegian cruise in February and said its not HONEYMOON FANTASY!!
It was Oook.. She doesn't reccomend a Honeymoon on a Cruise..
I believe her words since she is always traveling and visiting nice places. FM for any questions..

Re: Norwegian Cruise Line?
I haven't been on NCL yet but I booked a Bermuda cruise with them this summer. I've been on a lot of cruises. Our favorite cruise line is Princess but NCL is also anytime dinning. I love anytime dinning this way you can do what you want, eat when you want and sit where you want. I've heard decent things about NCL, a cruise is sort of what you make of it.

NP! We used a travel agent too and they are running a promotion for certain cruises that you get a $100 on board credit. I don't know where you are, but if you are in queens we used joe from liberty travel in bayside and he was so great! But I'm sure your travel agent will be able to get all the info for you guys as well! Good luck and if you have ay other questions don't hesitate to fm!

Re: Norwegian Cruise Line?
I went on NCL about 3 years ago. We went to Miami and the Bahamas.
It was great - everything was SO clean and everyone on the ship was so nice. The food was really good too and I loved how you didn't have a set dinner time - you could just go whenever you wanted. Let me know if you have any questions!

Re: Norwegian Cruise Line?
ive been on 5 norwegian cruises in the past 3 yrs. with that being said, i LOVE cruising. ncl is soo cleannn and ur not forced to it with strangers for dinner. and u can eat whenever u want since there are soo many diff restaurants on the ship. its more of a cruiseline that caters to couples than it is a party cruie.
ive been on the dawn, spirit(2), gem,and pearl. if u have any quetions feel free to fm me

Re: Norwegian Cruise Line?
We went on Norwegian last May. It was my first cruise ever, and I was not happy. It left out of NYC. And the weather wasn't the greatest, there was someone in our group getting sick each day. Which I know doesn't have to do with the specific cruise line. But I also wasn't happy with the activies on the boat. And because you are 'free to do whatever' there is not schedule, and there was always a line for the food. and we felt a lot of our fellow passangers were actually rude. But just my opinion

Re: Norwegian Cruise Line?
We went on the Norwegian Gem for our HM. The service was HORRIBLE but we had a great time anyway. There weren't that many activities to do on your at sea days but we made friends so the time passed quickly. It's nice that we didn't have to take a plane.

If you are looking for a nice classy cruise line, check out Celebrity. It's the same company as Royal Carribean and I must say, it's top notch service, food, quality.

We went on Norwegian- we LOVED it! It was amazing.
The best thing about it is the freestyle dining- you can eat whenever and not with strangers. There is also a dress code so you arn't sitting next to a table with an old man in a wifebeater, like some other cruise lines.
