Not a Good start....

Not a Good start....

with our Photographer today. So I made an appointment for engagement pics with my photographer about a month ago for Monday at 12 noon. I let him know when we booked it for Monday that i had to do it early because i work at night and we needed to be done by 4pm. He told me that was no problem and he suggested 12pm. Well the day before we are supposed to get them taken he calls us at 9 oclock at night and asks if we can make it 3pm instead of 12 because he has an apt in the city at 6pm. We were like 'uhhh only if we get done by4pm' and he assusred us that its not a problem, and it will not take more than an hour. So we said ok.

Well we go to Brooklyn today to get our pics taken and at 3:45 we get a call from him saying he will be there in liek 20min. We were like we told you we need to leave at 4pm! He wouldnt have gotten there in time and i was going to be late for work so i had to rescheduale.

I was so upset!! I got all dressed up, did my hair/makeup. FH got all decked out and now we have to do it again.

I was very excited for this today and i was so upset when we drove home that we didnt get to take them.

Sorry this is so long, just need to vent!

Wowwwww. Lateness is one thing I cannot stomach, especially when there's a contract involved and you're paying for a service. I would definitely discuss this with the owner.

Sorry you went through all that for nothing. I would have been so sad too!

Re: Not a Good start....

He is the owner of the company, and the only photographer. It really is unprofessional and not a good first impression and FH made sure he knew that on the phone when we spoke with him.

Sorry about that. They guys sounds (and probably is very) inconsiderate. I would take my business elsewhere.

I agree with the above..what if he does it on the day of your wedding? I would definetely get rid of him..

I agree. You should be able to get your deposit back. I wouldn't be able to relax the day of my wedding, and you still have some time to find someone.

WOW! This is really crappy!

I would be so upset if I got all dressed up to take pictures, and then I had to reschedule because of the photographer! This is totally unacceptable and they better compensate you somehow. This is so unprofessional and upsetting.

That is just horrible and unprofessional. I am so sorry this happened to you. I really hope that he is not like this on the big day.

i'm so sorry that happened to you - it really sucks and is very unprofessional on his part.

please go with your gut with this though ... i gave my photographer a second chance and am still beating myself up for it (i hated them) .... don't be afraid to be mean / not nice like i was!

EXACTLY what I was going to say! I didn't like our engagement pictures...I loved where they were and how they came out but I felt he was more interested in taking the pictures of the place rather then of us...I gave the photographer a second chance and HATED my pictures!

I hope it all works out for you guys but don't be afraid to speak your mind! If you want more fun pictures tell him, if you want more serious pictures tell him. I didn't speak up at the wedding for more fun pictures and artisy pictures because I didn't want to be 'that bride' and I regret it every day!

Re: Not a Good start....

I'm sorry..I would just be too nervous but I am a high anxiety person. I would definitely worry every second of the day. Plus..this guy is a professional and should want to make a good impression. Were not talking about a meeting before booking..were talking about your engagement pictures! THAT IS IMPORTANT! If it's not important to him to be on time and not be in a rush then you should take your business to someone else where YOU the paying customer will be the priority. Just my opinion.

Oh no!!! He really is quite good - and George Jr. recommends him. He's a bit scatterbrained, but I don't think you should go look for another... I can't see him doing this day of.
