not being bm anymore--suggestions??

After reading the drama about the bm today got me thinking.
I was asked to be in my friends bridal party. Since she has gotten engaged she has changed. I am not having a bridal party.(just moh)
I asked her to take pics at my eparty that's this Saturday and her response was 'if I remember -isn't your mom going to be taking pics?'
I know she's not a photographer but I wanted people to take pics so the day doesn't come and go and no pics.
I am in another wedding which they have asked my fh to be in as well. Which got me thinking.....
I think I want to bow out of being in her bridal party...what Is a gracious way of doing so?? Any suggestions??

Maybe you can politely tell her that in light of your wedding, and being in another wedding besides hers, it is too much of a financial strain? Just keep it casual & light. She should respect you for being honest.

I think it's best to bow out so that the bride doesn't have to kick you out. If your relationship is strained, she may feel relief if you drop out. Tell her that you still want to be involved in her day in another way.

Just say that financially your not going to be able to do it.

That's the best way to go since there is little someone can say in response to it. If they do say something about it and have a problem with it that gives you even more reason to back out.

Financial reasons are the best thing to blame it on IMO, good luck!

ITA

in my cousin's wedding one of the GM bowed out saying that his wife felt uncomfortable coming to the wedding alone, and him going way ahead in the limo. this just p.o'ed everybody. I thought that if he just said that he cant afford all of it, that would've been easier and nobody would've said anything.

ITA...financial hardship is best way to go...but try not to strain the relationship much... try to stay connected if you want to save the friendship. I've witnessed things go bad when this happens. Good Luck.
