I just need to vent about how utterly frustrated I am at the moment.
I am not closing on Monday. This means: $250 more for the co-op lawyer because that is what he charges for rescheduling a closing.
If it happens on or after the 15th, I have to pay Feb's maintenance at the closing - another $842
I have to call my insurance and tell them to delay the policy start date a few days.
My brother in law works for the mortgage company. On Tuesday when I first heard there was a problem I called him and he swore up and down and promised he was on it and everything would be fine. Today is it a different story.
Now, I know technically it is not his fault because the loan got held up in the processing department. But then he shouldn't have SWORE to me, he should have said 'I am doing everything I can'.
I was supposed to close in December and everything was all set. Then the seller had an issue and we had to push it back to January. Well, the co-ops insurance expires Dec 30, so the bank needed proof of the new policy, which they got last week. But the bank is overloaded since interest rates dropped and apparently my paperwork got delayed.
I am so annoyed right now. And there is nothing that I can do about any of this except wait for other people to pull their heads out of their keesters.

can they prorate the maintenance? thats what they did at my closing - like if there are 30 days in the month and you close on the 10th day, the first 10 days should be paid by the seller and the remaining 20 days should be paid by you? otherwise arent you paying for maintaining something you dont own yet? if you can do that, it should help with the $250 resched fee your lawyer is charging you. HTH..(not sure how your contract is written up..)
I'm so sorry!! I hear this is happening a lot lately.

This is Feb's maintenance. January's maintenance will be prorated. But if you close after the 15th they want the next month's maintenance.
Thanks ladies. I just needed to get this all out.

I'm just wondering if I can make the bank responsible for the $250? I shouldn't have to pay it. They had 2 weeks notice of the closing date, so why should I have to pay for their screw-up? The maintenance I would have had to pay anyway. Not for another 2 weeks, but I would have had to pay it.
