NOT DOING AN STD

IS THAT MISTAKE??

not everyone does one...i mean its good to do one if you have a lot of OOT guests or if your wedding is on a holiday weekend, but its not necessary to do one.

its not a mistake at all. esp if most of ur guests are locals or live not that far off, the STD's are not that necessary.
most of my guests are OOT, so I had to. that was my only reason.

I read in the Knot that guests' location relatively to the RH/church what makes STD important or not important

ultimately its just a nice gesture

I just feel like we're less than 7 months away.... it's an expense that we don't really need and I probably should have done them back in July.

Only reason we are doing them is because 90% of our guests are from out of town and i wanted to give them notice. I think your right with 7 months to go i dont really think you need to send them out now. You'll be sending your invites to soon after

I didn't send them. Waste of money imo. I think 2-3 months is more then enough time of a notice for a wedding. I never even heard about STDs until I got one last summer lol. Even then I lost it.

We are not doing them. I would rather use that money toward something else. Plus, everyone that needs to know when the wedding is knows so I didn't feel it was really nassacary for us.

Its not necessary at all. I'm sure the people that you definatly want there already know about your wedding by word of mouth. STDs are more for OOT guests and couples getting married on a holiday weekend/summer.

We didn't do one. We don't have a lot of OOT guests so we didn't think it was necessary for us.

we didnt do 1 cuz my bro got married in july.. so.. what was i guna do?? have my bro send out his wedding invites and then b elike 'oh by the way, heres a save the date for MY wedding' lol that woulda been SOOOO messed up on my part lol

i dont think they are necessary. word of mouth is a veryyy powerful thing. ppl talk. people knwo when ur wedding will be.

the only time i think they are necessary is when u have a bunch of cousins getting married around the same time.. and u wanna lock in your date.. u send them out ASSAAAAAAAAAAP lol

Re: NOT DOING AN STD

I am only doing them for certain people actually.

FH's parents want me to send them out but I don't want to. Everyone My parents are inviting is our immediate family and they already know when the wedding is.

No, we didn't do one either. I am just going to send out the invite early to the people who live out of state/country

Re: NOT DOING AN STD

I don't think it's a big deal not to send them- especially if you don't have a lot of OOTers and also, by the time you get them and get all the addresses and stuff, there would probably only be a 2-3 month gap b/t STDs & invites going out

I am not doing one. IMO it's an unnecessary expense.

Not at all - I never got an std for any wedding I've been invited too. I think its mostly for OOT guests - we weren't going to do it but postcards were free on vistaprint at the time so we just went for it...

I'm kinda torn about this too....don't know whether to do one or not....ummmm

Re: NOT DOING AN STD

Not at all.. I am not a fan of them. They are included in our photog. package so I decided we will use them as a favor for e-party. We are not sending them out.

Re: NOT DOING AN STD

not necessary at all!!!!! theyre good if you have a lot of OOT guests but even then word spreads, i just think theyre really cute lol so im sending them, plus there like 3853902 other family members on fh's side getting married next year so i kinda wanna be like aaaaaand by the way.... lol

Re: NOT DOING AN STD

If you have a lot of OOT guests I would suggest doing them... but if you don't have that many then I don't think it is a big deal...

We're sending them but really only because FH's entire guest list is from OOT.
