I noticed some girls not doing programs to save money, would that we weird? I would love to save money, just never thought of cutting out programs during the ceremony, what does everyone else think?

Re: Not Doing Programs? Is that Weird??
I think programs are unnecessary. The onlyreason we're diong them is because we're having and interfaith ceremony and we want to explain some of the traditions. If we were the same religion, I would definitely skip them.

Not weird at all. I'm sure I wouldn't even notice if they were missing.

We didn't do programs and didn't even miss them. To me it was one less thing to stress about and pay for.
It is totally your decision.

I am totally not doing them. I dont even know what it would say on them. The prayers and stuff? I think my guests will know what to expect at the church and if they dont well... SURPRISE!
Seriously it is one thing that is nice but I consider it 'extra' and I dont need anything extra to worry about or spend $ on.

We're doing them only b/c we are interfaith (I'm Catholic, FH is Greek Orthodox). I want my friends and family to know what's going on.

I've only been to 1 wedding that had them - and I've been to a TON of weddings. Although I was thinking of doing them, I'm starting to change my mind.

Re: Not Doing Programs? Is that Weird??
Great! Thanks for the feedback, I'm sooo happy that I can save more money....I'm definitely cutting them out!! I went to a wedding where it looked very homemade, used a copier and folded the paper in half and I thought it took away from the wedding, I'd rather not have them at all then do a real budget one just to have them.

I am not doing them either. I don't think it is weird at all. I think it is cool if you do them or you don't.

I'm still undecided, we're having readers so it would be nice to explain things. But I just don't feel like doing one. I've actually never been to a wedding where a program was given out.

I didn't plan to but the parents had a fit Choosing my battles carefully - I gave in on that one I agree they are so not necessary but......

Re: Not Doing Programs? Is that Weird??
Not strange at all. Very few people notice them anyway. Personally, I like to know who the BP is in relation to the bride and groom but most people don't put that in programs anyway.
It is a nice to have - not a priority

We're not doing programs either. We see it as a waste of money.

Re: Not Doing Programs? Is that Weird??
For me, it was less about money (I was going to make them myself off the computer) but more about the time I didn't have!!

We are not doing them. No offense to anyone here because some I have seen are gorgeous. And if you really want to do them, then do it.
But for me, if they can't figure out the who is who in the wedding party then maybe they shouldn't be sitting there reading the darn things in the first place.

Re: Not Doing Programs? Is that Weird??
I actually bought program paper from Michaels and spent about $10. I am going to print them myself. I think that this is one of the nice touches that isn't expensive! But if you choose not to have them for whatever reason that is your choice! Just letting you know that they don't have to be expensive!
