Not eating after a certain time at night?

I keep hearing about weight loss just from not eating after a certain time at night (7pm, 8pm, whatever) - has this worked for anyone? It makes sense...I do a lot of my munching late-night. Oprah won't even eat a grape after 7pm - talk about discipline!

Ive read that alot too. Whatever Oprah is doing is working-she looks so good!!

They say try not to eat 2-3 hours before you go to bed. I try to do this but its hard, especially cuz its so easy to wanna munch while watching TV at night!

Technically, you shouldn't eat two to three hours before sleep, especially if you have acid reflux - but really, it's about total calories consumed through the entire day. You won't overeat at night if you spread our your calorie intake throughout the day.

as long as you keep yopur total calorie consumption in check, it shouldnt matter when you eat - however, I feel eating earlier in the day gives you more chances to burn it off...

When I was thin, back in the day, I didn't eat after dinner, ever.

Now my schedule is crazy and dinner is so late and I do think that has to do with my weight gain!!

This is absolutely impossible for me, and I suspect it's the same for many commuters. I don't usually get home from work till 7 or 7:30 pm, and if I go to the gym, it's later still. So by the time I cook something, I'm eating at 9 often, 8 or 8:30 at the very earliest.

While this is probably good advice, my lifestyle just doesn't allow for it. So I eat smaller meals, and that's that.
