Has anyone had to deal with any major illness before getting married and how did that impact your relationship?

Yes, and it brought us closer together. It proved to us that we could handle anything.

Yes, we are dealing with an illness right now. It's been for the last 8 months and it was hard at first but it has brought us closer. It has also made us appreciate everything we have together.

Yes! We got engaged this past summer & my dad got sick w/ rheumatoid arthritis & had hip replacement, then my grandfather died the day after he had the surgery and 2 month later I couldn't walk and had to have herniated disc surgery 4 weeks later... It was horrible!
But it made us alot closer and we became more of a 'unit'
