NOT GETTING MARRIED IN A CHURCH

I AM A LITLE UPSET YOU SEE I AM NOT GETTING MARRIED IN A CHRUCH. TO ME IT'S NOT A REALLY BIG THING. I LIVE IN BROOKLYN MY RECEPTION AND CEREMONY ARE IN LONG ISLAND AND I REALLY DON'T GO TO CHRUCH AND I THINK I WOULD BE WRONG IF I GOT MARRIED IN A CHRUCH BECAUSE I DON'T GO TO CHRUCH. PLUS I DON'T WANT TO WALK INTO A CHRUCH I REALLY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT. I JUST SAID YOU KNOW WHAT I GOT TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR ME. THAN I SAW A PRIEST THE OTHER DAY AND HE ASKED ME IF A WAS GETTING MARRIED I SAID YES, HE SAID WHAT CHRUCH I TOLD HIM I AM NOT GETTING MARRIED IN A CHRUCH AND HE WAS REALLY NOT HAPPY AND HE BASCIALLY TOLD ME THAT GOD IS NOT GOING TO SEE MY MARRIAGE AS BEING REAL ANYWAY I AM GOING TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR ME. SO ANY BRIDES NOT GETTING MARRIED IN A CHRUCH I NEED A GOOD OFFICANT TO DO MY CEREMONY

I'm not getting married in a church either. This is a really big deal to my family but FH really wants an outdoor wedding and since I'm not the most religious person, I decided to give him what he wants. Now, my uncle was a priest, but he passed away several years ago, so my family was expecting his best friend (also a priest, naturally) to perform our ceremony. When we went to see him, he gave me the biggest guilt trip about not getting married in church, but of course, what else is he going to do? Say okay, don't get married in church, its no biggie? Of course not! The church is his business and his life! I realize that my wedding won't be recognized in the eyes of the CHURCH, but no one is going to tell me that my marraige won't be recognized by God. Really now, they don't have a secret 'Bat phone' up to heaven where they can be like, Hey God - she's not getting married in church so don't look, okay? I certainly don't mean to offend anyone with my religious views, but when you have a priest in the family, as well as my religious background, you get a different perspective on things.
