Not getting Video!!

Re: Not getting Video!!

I would at least consider it. Look around for good deals. I met with the videographer who filmed my brother's wedding and for 3 dvds, edited/finished video along with all the raw footage was going to charge 1250. The only reason we didn't go with him was because my photographer had the video as part of their entire package.

There have been many threads on this topic and past brides who don't get video almost always regret it...I agree, it captures things (like your first dance - LIVE!) that photos can't.

I agree 100%

I'm not sure yet. As of now we aren't getting it. We have a batrillion videos at home of Christmases, bdays, family reunions, etc. and I have NEVER (not even once) watched a single one. If we have any $$$ left over closer to the date, well then we may consider a cheap unedited video. We'll see.....

There is no comparrison between Christmas', birthdays, family, reunions and your wedding. JMO though.

FH and I both hate ourselves on video, so we're not getting one and saving some $$. I'm enlisting a family friend to videotape our vows and maybe 1st dance.

I am pro-video!

We watched it a few times and subjected the family to watching it. My parents have watched it several times and I will be showing it to my future children.

It's a way to capture the wedding for future generations and to have those people who are not here any longer with us for posterity.

This is a little morbid, but I feel down the road years from now, when my parents are gone I will be able to hear their voices at one of the happiest times in their lives.

I am getting a video for a few reasons....

1- Sad to say but not everyone will be around forever. My aunt had her wedding videotaped 3 years ago and is soo happy to this day because my grandfather was at her wedding and died shortly after the wedding and she has a part of him on that videotape and can remember that her father was part of her wedding.

2- Fh and I will be making rounds during the whole night and I am sure will miss most of our wedding. We will be able to catch up and watch what we missed (even if its only once...lol) and I will be able to see fh's face while he waits for me at the ceremony and I gt to see all my bp walk down the aisle.

3- I think it's a priceless piece of history that you only do once in your life and it will be real nice to show your children their parents wedding and how happy they were that day
