So the past few days I have been getting phone calls on my cell phone from venders and at first I didnt think anything of it but then i realized that they were all house venders from the Inn I also have been getting a lot of junk mail from venders. I didnt put my correct address up on here because I didnt want to get the 1,00000000+ advertisements from the venders and now I am!! so you may ask how? WELL apparently The Inn gave out my phone number and address with out ever asking me!!! Im really mad about this, Im not exactly ready to start booking venders we just booked the hall. I called the inn and they said they would send out an email telling the venders I didnt want to be contacted yet but whats that going to do now/ I already got 2 phone calls after the BM said they would send out the email. Once the venders have your information they arent going to stop calling Im not very happy at all, they should have asked first before giving out my phone number! and address too!

o boyy-- good to know-- maybe ill have a different email when the time comes closer to give out-- && I think that is just rude and inconsiderate to do!! I just wouldnt pick up phone calls that you dont know--

I always either say dont give # out- or just give fake info until I am ready to book... some places are so freakin sneaky and pushy they just dont get it!!! (

Yes, same thing happened to me and they can be VERY persistent.... I used to not pick up my phone and send it right to voicemail and it was always a vendor! If it dfoesnt seem like they will give up, just talk to em and say listen, i'm not ready to book yet. I'll call you when I am. I had to do that with Davids Bridal b/c they would call everyday
And I had a limo company also call me and i said look, im not getting a limo so dont call anymore.
Very annoying I know

Yes very rude and annoying...I dont think some of you understand its my RH that game out my name, number, and address before asking me! I didnt give out my info untill we booked the Inn and this is what they did!

What would you like to do about it then? If its bothering you that much, call your RH and ask them if thats they 'policy' We cant do anything for ya... And whats done is done right? I've had my RH's vendors call me after we booked too... and I told em the truth 'i'm not ready to book at this time' and they respected that and left me alone

That is terrible!!! Why would they give out your number without permission? Getting junk e-mail or advertisements in the mail is one thing but when Vendors start calling that is a bit much!
I would call the Inn and find out why they did such an act without your consent!

Thats what I've been doing, if they call I just say Im sorry Im currently in school and dont have time to talk to anyone about anything please wait until Im done in may, they tell me ok we will give you a call back in mid may and I say thanks and I havent heard from back from them.

I think this is pretty standard once you book. The RH gives your contact info to their house vendors. I suppose it would be nice if they asked first, but I didn't find it to be that big of a deal.

The minute I signed up here I got a 1000 pieces of junk mail. I am not getting married nor do I live in Long Island so the vendors there are wasting their money, paper and my time by mailing me stuff. I had no idea they would give my address out. I was pissed off and still feel betrayed.
However, at least it's just paper mail.
The fact that the Hall gave out your phone number without permission is utterly unforgivable!

I had the same thing happen I never give out my home number i always give my cell phone because after a certain time of night my daughter goes to bed i put my cell on silent and we go to bed as well so we dont like to get phone calls past 8pm well needless to say vendors started callng my HOME number i was like W T F i didnt give anyone this number and of course they were calling at like 930 and 10 at nite i was so mad when i realized that the east wind gave out my number so i just told off each vendor lol ande they stopped calling

speak to your hall about it weddings are a business they all work together to make a profit so you will start receiving e-mails and phone calls from different companies that work with the hall

I wouldn't worry too much. The Inn has a small group of reccommended vendors so it shouldn't be too bad. I received a few calls but I asked them to send mail instead when they called and they were really great about it. I know it seems like a pain but the vendors were prety understanding so I did not mind at all!

it's pretty standard practice for the hall to give your info to their house vendors once you book. i agree with the poster above, i received a few phone calls from the same 3 house vendors of the inn and once i told them i wasn't interested, i wasn't contacted again.

Sometimes it is stipulated in your contract that your contact can be given to house vendors. It is the same when you signed up for this site -- you agreed to it.
It is how they all get business.
Yes it is a little annoying or inconveinent but they will stop eventually. Let it go to voicemail or tell them you are not interested at this time.
It is a waste of paper but its the nature of the business. Please keep in mind that if you sign up at certain bridal shows, they sell that information to vendors.

There is truly nothing more annoying than getting solicited by wedding vendors when your head is swimming with the normal planning stuff!! Im so sorry your dealing what that nonsense but GOOD FOR YOU in calling the Inn and telling them that it's there fault! I hope they do something to makeup for it later on down the road. Guilt them into a discount!!! lol

Unfortunately it happens, I made a point to ask this because I had heard about girls getting alot of crap mail-and our hall didnt give out our information, instead they gave use the list of house vendors.
Sorry it *****, when you get the mail circle you address and writ eon it 'wrong address' and drop it in th email box...maybe they wil get the hint
