Not happy with limo situation (sorta long) UPDATE W/?

So I won't mention the name of the company I booked with b/c they did try to help me out.

We have a rather large bridal party (10 girls 8 guys) so when we were booking the limos FH and the limo company convinced me that the only way to get everyone there would be in a Hummer. I wasn't really thrilled with the Hummer (it's a hot car but not very wedding day to me) but we booked anyway. I didn't think limos would be a huge deal since we are getting married at the RH.

On the drive home though I started thinking about it and I was really unhappy with the Hummer. I brought it up to FH but he's the type that once something off the list, it's done. He doesn't want to deal with it anymore. It's a few weeks later now and I'm miserable!!! I always dreamed of an antique car and not climbing into a Monster truck!

I contacted the limo company to try to trade the Hummer for an antique car and a stretch but all their stretch limos are booked for the morning!!!!

They are willing to add on the antique to the Hummer but FH won't spend any more money on limos. I don't want to be a brat but I really don't want that Hummer anywhere near me that morning. The thought makes me want to cry!

awhhhh I'm sorry you are going through this.. But we booked the Hummer also because thats all they had that was big enough for my whole bridal party!! I think it's HOT!! Here's a pic of a Hummer that a bride used on here that might make you change your mind

Get the antique. Seriously. See how much more it is, and then see if you can cut the money from somewhere else. The pictures in your album are going to be SO much nicer if you have an antique car than of you climbing into some awful Hummer. (I hate Hummers and everything they stand for.) Try to make your FH understand how much this means to you. Cry if you have to. It works.

I'm not sure who your limo company is, but a girl posted on here some time ago about a limo company calling her the morning of her wedding to tell her that her antique was no longer available and that they were going to send her a Hummer (I think). In any case, her father got on the phone and all of a sudden the antique was avialable.

Not sure if there are limo companies that lie to try to get you to get a certain car.

Even if that is the only car available, just think of it as a means of transportation. Your BP may love it and you know what, it's never really in pictures anyway.

So I was talking to my parents about the wedding and like a wimp starting crying about the limos. Well my mom understood how I felt and they offered to pay for the antique for me! They'll be the ones riding with me in the morning anyway and they like the idea of the Rolls.

The thing is- how do I tell FH that I booked it anyway. He's going to be furious that we're spending more money (oh no the budget!!!! )

But really it's not coming out of his pocket.... right?

Just tell him that your parents KNEW there was something wrong and you told them and they offered to pay for it if thats what their little girl wanted. He cant really be too upset about it

I spoke to him when he got home from work today and he was fine with it. He actually told me earlier that there was something he wanted to talk to me about and that was it. He was going to cave and just up our limo budget!!

I just want to clarify that I like the Hummers! We booked one for the way back. It's just that I didn't want to climb into one with like 15 people on the way to the wedding with my enormous dress. I'd rather ride in a small limo with my parents (I just know my nerves will be everywhere) and take the Hummer back when we can party.
