Not having any luck with renting our apt.

We put an apt. in our basement about 1 year ago. Right after it was done we had a potential renter who came in and was horrible. She bounced her security check, never gave us the money for 1st month. We had such a hard time getting her out. Then my cousin moved in last march. 3 Days after she moved in her boyfriend also moved in, which she never asked us or even informed us about him. 9 Months after that she welcomed her little girl into the world. They all moved out in Feb. of this year. The carpets where so stained, they windows where all broken. not to mention she broke out washing machine the day before she left.
We spent all of our savings on this place, i mean the apt has better ammenities than we do in our part.
Why can't i just find a trust worthy person who is looking for a home?

how much is the rent? my sister is looking to move out on her own and she is very trustworthy and responsible.....and I would onlyh want her in an apt where she does not have to worry about anything

I'm in centereach so that kinda makes us neighbors. We listed our appt with Stony Brook University and have got TONS of calls for the appt. We had a wonderfu, quiet tenent who stayed with us for 2 years and now we have a 2nd year doctoral student moving in today who seems great and said that he is looking for a very quiet place where he can study.... so I'm thinking he's going to be quiet and good too.

The listing is only $30 and they run it for 3 months. I would really recommend going through them.
