Not having rehersal dinner/should I put something together?

Several guests are from out of state (mostly my family), and I'm worried that they'll expect soemthing the night before. Frankly, it would hit the budget pretty hard to do any kind of dinner. Plus, the wedding ceremony is at 10:30 am, the reception starts at 11:00 am and I don't something dragging on till late. MIL and MOH have both said it's not a big deal but MOH said maybe a little wine and cheese 'get-together' at the hotel's sitting room would be appropriate. p.s. MIL is hosting the reception--so the tradition of groom's parents paying is out.

I think you should have something, especially since people are traveling to your wedding.
Do something small like you MOH said

I agree with jennbaby. Your guests are just that, your guests, and they're coming out for your wedding day. If the budget's getting tight, wine & cheese is very nice... you could also just throw some burgers and dogs on the grill... or get some pizzas...
