Not inviting people from work...

Original post by Dreemer107

FH & I both have large families, so our guest list consists of mostly family and a few friends. We're not inviting coworkers, but today my coworkers were joking around about what theyre gonna do at
my wedding...

Are any of you not inviting people from work? How are you letting them down nicely?

I am not but my closest friends at work know my situation so they are fine with it.

I would def. let them know your situation and break it down for them. They may all think that they are all invited. You can also make them your B list. FH and I are inviting just about everyone from both our jobs b/c we work for small companies, and they are like our extended families... Soo...we really had no choice. But I would def. let everything know...

I only invited people I am close with from my dept. I feel like I spend most of my day with them then I do with some of my own family.....BUT, I am having an issue of wether or not I am going to be inviting the 'big cheifs' or not......

I am only inviting a small number of people from work. People need to understand that sometimes its just NOT possible to invite EVERYONE we want. I've even had a few people at work tell me they'd PAY for their own plates!

That's weird. If I weren't invited, I would leave it at that. I wouldn't suggest paying for myself! You should just use the 'there's not enough space in the reception hall' excuse.

SAME HERE i am a teacher and we have a large grade and all the girls are married or engaged so that would add like another 20 people to the list, which is already huge, and then i am worried bout others saying 'how could she not invite me?' so i decided no co-workers no matter what!

not doing it! i feel like if you invite one, you have to invite all of them... FH is experiencing the same thing- our guest list is just too large for them... they are B listed, so if people decline, they will get their invites...
