What do you do if you are not going to meet the minimum? Our RSVP date is tomorrow and counting the people who didn't rsvp, but we think will say yes, we are about 40 below our minimum. What do would you do?

I would call all of those people tomorrow night and then I would tell some of my close friends to invite some of their close friends.

I agree. I'm assuming your hall will charge you extra for not meeting the minimum, right?

We realized we would not meet our minimum and went immediately to our hall to explain, about 1 month before. They thanked us for not waiting until the last payment to tell them because they could work with us. (Then I went to the ladies on here and found out I wasn't alone)
Basically, you pay for wait you guaranteed. But you can negotiate what you get for that number. There are many things that can be thrown in; ie: extra hour (however, an extra hour with the hall means paying OT to your Dj and possibly photog, etc), extra CH stations, chair covers, viennese hour, etc. Even if it's something you're paying extra for now, they could be willing to negotiate. Trust me, ask. Good luck!!!!!!

We are 25 under the guaratee and the hall said that they would when we go to do our finals ( this saturday) they can work with us on arranging the rooms to meet the amount of people and see what upgrades we can get due to the fact no matter what we are paying for 25 people who will not be there...
no matter what yuo have to pay what you guaranteed so just negotiate and get upgrades...any good hall will be more then happy to see what they could do for you...

After all was said and done with my RSVPs, I was 20-30 people below. I went to my office and invited some key people, and then half od them said no, so I was still 10-15 below. I have some close friends from LIW, so I extended the invite to them and on my wedding day, we paid for 110 people and 102 showed up.

I'm including the vendors in the minimum and I'm going to beg they charge me the same price for the final head count I give them!!

I went ultra low on my min guaranteed 70 sometimes up to 80 people per place. I simply said my fh and i simply don't know that many people and most of his family is deceased. They worked with me only because i wanted a sunday.
I would say pull out a plan b invite list. Or if you didn't tell your guests that they can bring a guest call up and ask now. You will pay no matter what for those people.

If your under the minimum start counting your vendors in your total. Your paying for dinners so you might as well feed your vendors.

That's my biggest fear is not having enough people. I would call them and find out for sure, you may not be under by that much. Maybe the hall can put you in another room if there isn't another wedding the same day. See if they will work something out with you.
My FH family is not big at all, so it's all on me to meet the requirements. I'm in the early stages of planning it, but it still freaks me out.

JT will definitely charge you for those people, so you might as well try inviting some B listers. Can you fudge the date on your invites? Or at least send the invitation and make up a response card for those B listers.

look at your b list if you have one and then invite them.....But if you dont meet the min. you are going to have to pay for the balance.

NEGOTIATE! No matter what you pay the total price for thos ppl, but work in a chocolate fountain. Upgrade from sliced filet mignon to whole filet's... work it girl!
