I called to ask our DJ company when we could meet with our DJ and was told that we do not actually meet with the DJ, but instead give all our requests to their Event Coordinator and she will pass along the information.
Is this normal? I feel like we're playing a game of telephone and some inforamtion will get lost along the way.

I was told by our DJ that we submit all our music online through their website. Then the DJ and / or MC will call us the week of our wedding to go over everything. We don't actually 'meet' with him but we do talk to him and go through everything on the phone.

I met with my DJ. I would tell the DJ company that you are not comfortable with meeting with the event coordinator and you want to speak with the actual person who is going to be at your wedding.
We all know how the game of telephone works. You tell them one thing and the DJ will get a completely different message.

We didnt met with our DJ specifically, we met with our MC and went over all our song request and forms.

For us we will be meeting our DJ about 6 weeks before the wedding to finalize everything.

I have to drop off my pictures and video for the montage next week, so I told them I will discuss the issue with them when I come in.

They will probably try to bully you and convince you that you do not need to speak with them and they do it all the time, etc, etc, etc. You are paying a lot of money. If you are more comfortable meeting with the DJ/MC then you should. End of story

we met with ours initially when we booked them- and we did everything on the web site The MC called us the night before to go over list

We met with ours initally. We have one payment left so I guess we will sit down with them then. All song requests/lists are being emailed.
