I was in lane bryant in NJ this weekend buying some clothes, and I had been eyeing this cute peasant top that was on a dummy. This girl beat me to asking the saleslady to take ti down (I was looking for it on the racks) and she was going to take it. It was WAY too small for her, I mean WAY too small. My mom asked the saleslady 'what size is it?' and the girlw as like 'it doens't matter, it's mine..I'll squeeze into size 14 jeans if I have to' ok..and the girl was at LEAST a size 24. it was like..ok you have fun in your size 14 jeans now the size 18 shirt. I mean it was NOT going to fit her, by any stretch... grr
but then she gave me a coupon that saved me $75 and thus redeemed herself. I was just like because I don't go around buying size 10 shirts and expecting them to fit.
OK I don't know why I'm so annoyed about this..but the shirt would have looked GREAT on me...and it's not even going to fit her....grrr...
but thanks for the coupon!
Anyway I think this si justa peeve of mine..I mean I'm heavy, but I buy clothes that FIT. I can't understand people who like have to SQUEEZE into clothes. I had a friend once..I was much thinner and she was maybe 1 or 2 sizes bigger, but we'd go shopping and she'd have to buy the same clothes as me in the same size..and then she's always want to try on my clothes and she'd ruin them..and I'd be like..just buy YOUR size. grrr

It has to be to draw attention to themselves. You never really notice the heavy people who dress appropriately; it's always the ones who are popping out of their clothes that you notice. That's not the kind of attention I'd want if I were heavy, but I think some people don't even care if it's negative attention they get. It's attention nonetheless.

it's true. I don't even notice people who are big,..but even if you're like a size 12 (I consider that skinny) and you're squuzing into a size 8, you're gonna look bad... it just calls more attention to it..it looks like 'ehy I'm so fat they don't make clothes big enough for me' which is so untrue. If it were a size 14 shirt and there was a smaller gilr there, I would have let her have it....I mean at least she could have tried it on, discovered how small it was on her and given it to it's rightful owner..ME..hahah

There was a post a few weeks ago in which someone said they wanted to buy this Coach bag at Marshalls and gave it to the salesperson to ticket it, and some other woman took it. When the woman was told it was saved for the poster, the other woman licked it so that no one else would want it. EWWWW....

I also think some people don't want to admit that they are they size they are. My mom is not heavy, but she has gone from a size 6 to about a 10, which is really easy b/c she is only 4'11''. But she can't admit to herself that she's a ten now and will still try to squeeze into her 6. Sometimes it's frightening...lol

And Jen, that does totally bug me. I won't ever buy slothes that are too small, but I don't get rid of old ones sometimes. I have realized that an extra large that lays flat is MUCH better than a medium that pulls at the buttons.
