Okay, I am really bummed out. I just got my make-up done and the make-up itself looks fine, but I look terrible. I just look absolutely horrible in pictures. I hate the way I look. And now I realized that not even make-up helps. :( I started weight watchers but I don't even know if losing weight would help.... Does anyone else out there ever feel the same way? What do you do that makes you more photogenic and like the way you look?? I just needed to let this out cause if I tell my mom she will tell me I'm crazy (but she has to, she's my mom). Blah. Thanks for listening.

ok i know this will sound corny but what can make u photogenic is just being happy..the best smiles r natural not posed and im sure when u r smiling from ear to ear on ur big day the pics will be great

I completely understand. I think I look vile in pics...it's just bad genes. My mother looks awful too. But in person, we're both not totally hideous...it's just the way the cameras react to us!
For me, I look best in pics, cheesily enough, when I'm with FH. I think it's because I'm naturally happy then, and it shows, and I don't look like I'm forcing my emotion for the camera. Maybe that's the case with you...in which case, our wedding pics will rock

That is not corny, you are right. Thanks! My problem I think is when a camara is around me I get tensed up or something.

Gina is TOTALLY right!!! When you pose for pics, there's usually a stiffness that the camera always seems to pick up! But when you're relaxed and happy, that just jumps out, and everyone can see it. Are you getting photojournalistic shots at the wedding? Maybe they would be best at capturing you at your best!!
Although, I have to remind you, you're your own worst critic, and I'm sure it's not as bad as you think. You will be beautiful!!!

Okay, I am sorry to harp on this.... I don't know what to do. So my parents and FH all said that I look really beautiful with my make-up. But then I look at the pictures and I look hideous. :( I showed my FH the pictures and he said that it doesn't look like me. And that I am 'fake smiling'. (Please don't think he was being mean-- because he did not say it in a mean way.) But I don't know what to do. If I look bad in the pictures do you think I should go for another trial?? Even though the make-up looks great in person??

Once again, I had the same issue. When I had my trial I was like OMG I love myself LOL...then the pics I have posted I have serious Paris Hilton wonky eye going on.
If you liked the way you looked in person, I would trust that...or if the trials are free or reasonably priced that you can do another one, take some pics with FH, and I guarantee you'll look 100 times better if you're naturally happy!

I feel better knowing that I am not the only one. Although I looked at your pictures and you look really pretty! Plus, I peeked at your dress and I do think it looks very bride-y! You will be stunning. Thanks for all the kind words.

Natural happiness shines through. I have a friend who was worried about this...so a group of is had a couple of glasses of wine and went out on the town and took photos. When she saw how great she looked, she realized it was all about being relaxed and comfortable. Maybe try this with friends.
As far as weight, you have plenty of time to make healthy changes. Exercise...the endorphins will do great things for you

I have the EXACT same problem you have. You can check out my make up trials in my files. The make up looks great. Me... not so much lol. But to be honest, I know its just because I am very uncomfortable in front of a camera and freeze up. I just feel stupid standing there smiling to get a picture taken. (I always complain that my family never displays any pictures of me but there are pics of my sisters plastered all over the house... Then they all yell at me because they say I always refuse to take pictures lol. I just hate taking them so much!) But I don't think this is going to really be a problem at our weddings. We are going to be elated that day so its going to be hard not to smile. Plus, we will be taking pictures with our parents, FHs, bridal party... ect. It's always easier to feel relax when the spot light is not just on you. Can you post the pics so we can see?

I added the pictures to my album. I don't know how long I will keep them up... I am kind of embarrassed.

The make up is nice and I think you would photograph better if you were more relaxed. You will be relaxed on your wedding day and you won't be as conscious of the camera in your face. Think about it, you had the camera up in your face to photograph your make up. Thats uncomfortable. The last poster said you looked cute in the pic with your head thrown back and I agree. That one looked nice because you looked a little bit more comfortable. Just practice taking pictures. I have to too! We can set the cameras ourselves and delete them after. Practice makes perfect! Don't worry!!!!
