the fox hollow is gorgeous for winter weddings. it looks kind of like an old english chatau in the mountains... it has a ton of fire places that would be awsome if lit in January. Their off season prices are very reasonable i believe under $60 a head for January/Feb
They have a room that is perfect for a smaller guest list. It's called the Winter Garden Pavillion. We're having our cocktail hour there.
It's got a glass ceiling and the back wall is a waterfall... it's amazing. there are photos on their website.

I'd look into the Stewart Manor CC
Galaxie Caterers
The Sterling

Most places WILL negotiate given your choice of dates.

Best of luck!

Re: Not So Normal...

I cannot possibly tell you all how much I appreciate the FM's and all the info.

We currently have appointments on Friday with the Fox Hollow, the Swan Club and Chateau La Mer. I'm going to follow up with everyone else shortly and see if we can get some more appointments.

THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!! (and of course, keep those ideas coming!)

I know it wasn't meant to be with the other places - it's just so upsetting to get all these ideas in your head - have it all set with what you want to do and BLAMMO - it blows up...

Thanks again!

Re: Not So Normal...

Im assuming since you don't want anything 'weddingy' that rules out all the wedding halls. So maybe try looking into restaurants that have a private room. I know that piccola bussola in Mineola has a room. Also, Corbin and Reynolds in Long Beach. I think there is a few places in Freeport that have private rooms as well. I'd say start by going to restaurants you like and seeing if they have a big enough private room for you, and then start getting quotes. Goodluck!!!!

I can't find anything online about the Metropolitan Club. They used to have a website and it's gone...

Try George Washington Manor in Roslyn. It was an old house from the 1700's.

Try the 3 West Club in Manhattan. We had our wedding there and it was fabulous. We didn't want to use a hall either so 3 West Club may be a good fit...Good luck

You can also try Leonard's of Great Neck they gave me an unbelievable rate.

A friend of my FSIL had her wedding at Blue Hanu in Huntington and she also said in her review that she didn't want it to be a very 'weddingy' place'. Here's her review...

Or Verdi's in Westbury, it's not very weddingy but I've attended parties there and hosted my mom's 50th birthday there, their food is honestly delicious. Website Here their prices are also UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Check out the Three Village Inn. I know there were a couple of past TVI brides that did reviews.

My RH is Timber Point country Club. it is A LOT less formal than regular RHs. it is very simple and elegant...it's on a golf course - and they are VERY willing to negotiate. i think you may like it!! check it out - it's a lessings place, so you have to know it's not going to be a bad experience :) FM if you have any questions!! good luck finding the perfect place!!
