Not sure if I'm blowin stuff out of porportion

I just called to set up a food tasting for my cake that my RH said they are getting my cake from for the wedding. I called to ask if I could come in. The woman on the phone booked my appointment and then tried to rush me off the phone without getting my name, then I said wait, you need my name. then she said oh yeah.. whats your name. I told her then she was like fine bye.. I then said oh wait.. how many people can I bring because some tastings you are only allowed to bring a certain amount of people. The woman puts down the phone and then I hear her and her boss making snide comments about me bringing people saying I can't bring the whole party. She comes back on the phone and was laughing. I told her I overheard the conversation and said that some places have a cap on how many people you can bring and I asked if that was her boss and she proceeds to tell me yes, but he was just joking, and I was like thats ridiculous. should I be aggreviated? and should I say something to my RH about this.. it left a bad taste in my mouth.. suggestions?

I'd be aggravated.

And I would say something to the RH, I wouldn't get all hot headed and say anything regrettable but I would definitely say something.

i would deff say something to the RH bc they are using this place with their customers and they should know that they arent treating them very well!!!!

Good for you for letting them know that you heard what they were saying!!!!!

YES-I'd be ANNOYED too; but i just get like that after people p i s s me off. That was SO rude. Usually halls are so nice & accomadating to the people who are spending $$ to have their weddings there.

I'd call back and speak with a manager-or tell your BM about the experience and let them know you weren't happy. I wouldn't cancel over it; but i'd voice my opinion. ANd you never know they may do something to make it up to you-invite more guest to the tasting or something else.

I don't think you're overreacting at all. That was unprofessional; and out of line.

I would call and ask to speak to the head manager and complain.

I'd be annoyed, but I wouldn't call the RH. What are they gonna do? I'd get their names and ask to speak to the manager at the bakery.

Wow, that's really early for a tasting, too! I still haven't done mine and I'm less than three months away.

Very rude & unprofessional. Are they the only bakery CLM works with? I would politely let your contact at CLM know what happened and see if there are other options.

I glad I am not the only one who thinks I am not blowing it out of proportion. I was wondering is there a chance that I can get a credit (because my cake was included in my RH) and get a cake somewhere else? Can I do that?

i just realized you rec'd the rude treatment from the bakery and NOT the hall...none the less I'd still be annoyed!

Call the bakery back and speak to a manager and still complain to the RH.

IF you complain to the RH and say how upset you were with the treatment and that you don't want to deal with this bakery at all...maybe they'll try to make it up to you-upgrade the icing; filling something. Maybe they won't give you the credit; but try to make it up some other way.

ok, so I just called my RH manager and told him, and he said he never heard of this happening before. But assured me that he would call them and let them know because the owner would flip out if he heard this.

If it is the bakery I used...I know what you mean about the attitude. I would just let it go and not tell CLM. See how they are at the tasting. A young girl worked with us and she wasn't the friendliest. Also - I don't think you should bring a ton of people anyway...its not all that nice in there and its not that exciting. Just go with your FH.

BTW...is that your actual date? If so...I am surprised you are going for a tasting so soon...I didn't go until the month before my wedding. CLM told me not to book a tasting until a few months in advance.

I would be VERY pissed. Definitely mention this to your banquet manager.

yes I am letting it go now that I spoke with the bakery. Regardless of how many people I was bringing which is only 3. MY Mom, FH, AND FMIL. they still should be professional about any situation. And CLM never told me when to go, but I have a very hectic schedule so getting one less thing out of the way is a good thing.

Def not blowing out of proportion, I would let CLM know...that is so rude and tacky! What bakery is this?? I think CLM would find this info valuable since they are a well known reputable RH!

Is this your own baker or through the RH? If it's your own baker I'd call and ask to speak to the owner and let him know how unprofessional his staff is and then probably just let him know you plan on taking your business somewhere else. If it's through the RH you are probably in a tighter spot. yYou could call and complain to the BM and let them know this is how their customer's are being treated by their recommended vendor's. Either way I'd have to speak to someone and have something done. I wouldn't get all hot headed though. You attract more bee's with honey. You can possibly get a credit but see what they offer first. You definitely need to let them know though. One bad vendor can hurt a halls rep
