FH just informed me that the friday night before the wedding his 3 brothers and now his cousin will be sleeping over our really tiny 1 bedroom apartment. Our wedding is that sunday but I'm really stressed as it is, I can't imagine what it'll be like 2 days before the wedding. Am I wrong to be upset over this? I know his brothers have no money and have no where to go so I understand why he offered but they're grown men they should be figuring it out for themselves! What would you do?

Re: not sure what to think
I would say no. I would offer to pay for a cheap hotel for them just so I could have my sanity.

Re: not sure what to think
I feel your pain- my fmil, her boyfriend, my fsil, her boyfriend and fh's neice all think that they are staying in our apartment the weekend of the wedding- AND we havent closed yet and probably wont till October 1st.
I would say stand your ground, but its a toughie
eta- they are coming on Friday & fh is sending me to the OOT hotel that same day- that was how we solved it. but it pisssssed me off to have him spend the money- they should have had to

I would say no... it's not fair for you (or your FH) to have to worry about house guests on top of tying up any loose ends 2 days before the wedding. Like you said, they are grown men and can figure it out on their own.

Just the friday night? what about the night before the wedding, where will they be then? If somewhere else, why couldn't they be there friday too?

I absolutely would NOT take them I know what you mean. MY FH is Canadian, his mother, aunt , sister and brother in law are staying at my place and hes like well well get blow up mattresses for others. UMMMMMMMMM NO absolutely not I will not lose my sanity over having strangers stay with me. his immediate family is quite enough. Im with you on that one PUT your foot down its ur big day

I KNOW! And I especially need my own bathroom, we have ONE! One bathroom and 6 people 2 days before my wedding does not sound pretty. I'd love to book them a hotel but I really can't do it, this wedding is taking every cent I own! I'm just annoyed because they had 2 years to save up for the wedding and they didn't plan correctly and now FH and I are the ones to be inconvenienced. One of them might not even make it, and he's in the bridal party!

Well they're staying there saturday too but I'll be in the hotel so it doesn't matter to me.

Well they should but they won't, they're grown men with the minds of 12 year olds. Did I mention last time they stayed with us they got in a fist fight and almost broke the plasma AND our wine cabinet?

I would not like it either but my FH would say 'Family is Family' Think about how you would feel if it was your bro or sister? Would you still feel the same way?

I agree, I would have no issues. Maybe if it were the night before I might feel differently, but since it's two nights before it wouldn't matter.

Re: not sure what to think
You are not wrong about this at all. I have to tell you that I dealt with a VERY similar experience except I didn't say no to it and it was very hard for me. I can completely relate to how you feel. Honestly if the idea was brought up to me again and I could change my answer I would.
