Not that we have any say in the matter, but WOTY 06...

The site says WOTY 2006 will be announced on September. What would you like to see happen at the next event? What prizes, events, vendors?

FYI: WOTY stands for 'Wedding of the Year', an annual GTG sponsored by LIW/NYCW It features a 'mock wedding' complete with a bride and groom having a renewal ceremony as well as a bridal party and a reception. I was at WOTY 05 and there was a band and DJ playing, a photgpraher, different florists made centerpieces and the whole room was filled with the delicious smell of a chocolate fountain!

The only thing I can think of right now is the whole food issue. it was really hard, since we shared dinners and being a vegetarian there was only one thing I could eat, but I couldn't take more than 1/8 of it, since we had to share

Also, I would have liked better goodie bags, with more prizes, etc, instead of just ads. But it was a lot of helpful info. It may have been cool to see the florists at work somehow, and also the hair/makeup artists.

ETA: I don't mean to imply that Ron and Liz and the rest of the LIW NEED our advice in planning the WOTY. They did such a great job and I think WOTY 05 was a great success.

I think the last 2 were both in January. They're just going to anounce it in September, I guess tell us the date and location and start looking for the Bride and Groom and Bridal Party (In the last this has come from picking LIW newlyweds out of a hat)

Ron told me it is in January every year. and it will be at the huntington hilton again

Yes I think a few months before they put the tickets on sale. It is a limited number of people so you should buy your tickets asap if you know you can go.

The HH is nice! I just hope the food situation is better this time! Or I'll just eat beforehand, whichever!

I think my favorite thing, besides meeting and hanging out with LIW brides and grooms was seeing all of those BEAUTIFUL centerpieces. They were just so creative

Last year it was $25 pp, but I have no insider info on this whatsoever, so it may be completely differnt pricing this year, because things may be done differently.

That would defintiely be inexpensive, and would eliminate the awkward food sharing thing!

i might have to bring another man with me though, i know already my fiancee wont' want to go, he doesn't like to go to anything or get dressed up for anything.

He dosen't really have to get dressed up...
and last year there was a special for the 'guys only' contest where Julie's husband won a plasma screen tv!!! they announce before that day what the prize for the guys will be
