Not to be CHEATER obsessed or anything...

Original post by matron

But do you believe that the phrase,
'Once a cheater, always a cheater' is mostly true? Explain why you answered the way you did. I don't believe this is always the case, but I feel in most cases it probably is. I think people that are prone to cheating are more likely to cheat again in the future. This scares me because (DON'T FLAME ME HERE), I've cheated (no sex) on boyfriends in the past. I haven't cheated on my husband since we've been married, but that phrase always scares me. I know I have enough self control to NOT cheat and I love him too much to do it, but I wonder if it's just something in a cheater's personality or something....

I voted, once a cheater, always a cheater and here's why:

My HS boyfriend cheated on me. After college we became friends again and hung out kind of often. One day at a concert we kissed (A LOT!) After the first kiss he looked at me and said something about how he shouldn't be doing that (he had a girlfriend at the time) and how he was repeating exactly what he had done to me to his new girlfriend. Fast forward two years later. We meet up again at a mutual friends wedding and he's all over me, professing his love (it made no difference to me, i had already met my SO). MEANWHILE, he had another girlfriend (who did not attend the wedding)!! He ended up marrying the new girlfriend. I don't think he'll ever change.
