not to be controversial

Re: not to be controversial

I think I may have answered this before? There's no medical evidence, to say that it would cause you to not be able to conceive (unless something was damaged in the process, I guess). I can definitely understand thoe guilt feelings and fears. I always felt like if I ever had an abortion I wouldn't be able to conceive after that, it would be my punishment or my karma or something. When I was younger I worried the same things about BC. It's a common and understandable fear, but I think, fortunately, it's medically unsubstantiated.

I also agree that abortions are not BC. I am really understanding of people who have them and I know it';s one of the toughest things a person cna go through, but when people don't find it tough and have no remorse it really does bother me. i heard a woman on the subway say she'd had 8 abortions..I wanted to puke. I mean, I would think after one unplanned pregnancy a person would learn and go on the pill. And then maybe the pill didn't work (nothing's 100%), so I cna see a second..MAYBE..but EIGHT. That's where it really starts making me sick. For awhile after I heard that I became vehemently pro-life. I just couldn't stand people thinking it's just another form of BC, especially with alte term abortions nowadays. euuuuughhhhh

Marymoon...just read this post and i know exactly how you feel. I too have been sympathetic and understand towards anyone who has had to make this tough choice. But when i hear about women using it as a form of birth control, i get disgusted. My friends sister had three...then was devasated when she couldn't conceive later in life. It turns out that with hers (i am NOT saying this happens in every case, i'm sure it doesn't) she had built up scar tissue from them...the scar tissue hardened and she was told she could not have kids. It was virtually impossible for her to become pregnant. SOO i guess what i am saying...is that yes, multiple abortions can effect your fertility...and i'm sure there are cases where one can affect you, just like ANY surgery that someone has. Nothing is foolproof...from a moral standpoint? I dont know....i can't judge. I never try to do that, because I can't say what is right for me is right for someone else.

yeah, i meant for one. one is tough enough i cant imagine going through somethign like that again.... let alone 8 times! thats what bothers me too. how some ppl just truly dont care. i used to think abortions were mainly for irresponsbible ppl who dont care, now i realize its not, but in some instances unfortunatly it is. so sad.
