Is anyone's dress not white/ivory/offwhite (the typical)?
I was driving past a bridal shoppe the other day and they had all these different colored wedding gowns. At first I thought they were bridesmaid dresses but then I saw the same thing in a magazine. Is this the new trend that I was not made aware of? It is pretty and all, but not traditional enough for my taste.

Re: Not your typical wedding dress....
My dress is the red one in my profile, without the feathers. I have LOVED this dress since I was a little girl...
Mine is champagne/light blush with copper beading.
When we went back to the salon to view it, it was hanging with the Mother of the Bride gowns because it wasn't white/ivory.

Marcia, I also LOVE that dress! Are you having someone make it?

MarciaD, is someone making the dress for you? That is really beautiful. Will yours be velvet too?

Yes, I have a fashion designer modifying the design and making it for me. It is a wine velvet with matching stones. I have my first fitting the week of 09/01/03 and I'm sooooo excited to see it finished!!!
Thanks!

Re: Not your typical wedding dress....
Last summer when I was dress shopping I fell in love with a platinum colored Richard Tyler wedding dress - it was a strapless sheath style and absolutely gorgeous. But in the end, i was afraid my fi would see me and be like 'What in God's name are you wearing!' Not to mention I also thought in a few years I'd regret not wearing something a little more traditional. But I still think about it!
