I had an eng party last weekend and people bought such great presents! There is hardly anything left on the registry for the wedding.
The problem is that I have a tiny Manhattan apartment that my FI will be moving into. We are worried enough about how his stuff will fit- I'm not sure where all the presents will go. Most will stay at my parent's house until we get a bigger place or a house.
I don't really want to add to the registry- I have everything I need. But on the other hand I don't want people buying gifts (for those who want to buy something over giving cash) of their own liking.

Re: nothing left on registry!!
I know what you mean about the size of NYC apartments... my FH lived there while we were dating and his kitchen was the size of a telephone booth. Crazy!!
Maybe add things like sheets and towels? You can never have too many sets of sheets, in my opinion. That way it's not another appliance or knick-knack to take up space, they just stay in your linen closet.
Just a thought!

Definitely go back and put more things on your registry or you will end up with 10 vases and 5 wine racks, and 12 margarita glass sets at your shower!

Ok, call me evil, but perhaps you could register at a place like Macy's, return the items you don't need for store credit, and then have lots of money for work clothes, etc.

Re: nothing left on registry!!
macy's lets you exchange gifts for credit? do they not give you money back?
my fine china was all purchased for the eng party. i think i want to change my pattern though- and it's about $30 cheaper a set. will they give me credit only?
what do they do w/ gifts that have gift receipts? i got some macy's items that were not on the registry that i don't like too much.
thanks.

We're in the same boat, we live in Brooklyn. We registered at www.thehoneymoon.com-it's great! You register and type in the 'gifts' then at the end they send you a check!! I love it, and my guests like it too. It's a way for you to get $ for your honeymoon, and for them to feel like they are giving you a 'gift'.
