So I know that my shower is Sat. b/c FMIL spoiled the surprise. Well, on my target registry out of 87 items only 5 items have been bought. Ok Ok I know a registry is for suggestions and gives your guests an idea of what you want but come on! The 5 things bought are not even important things. Am I being selfish and materialistic? I'm just nervous and stressing out!

It could be possible that Target didnt take them off the registry or you have some last min shoppers

i've actually heard this from a bunch of friends that used the Target registry...no worries just enjoy this time!
You'd be amazed at how many people wait till the VERY last minute when purchasing gifts. Most people I know (and friends of friends, acquaintances, etc.) purchase registry items either the day of the event or a day or two before.

Yes and stuff is bought but Target has the bulk of our items so I am just stressing! Thanks!

90% of people do not buy in advance for a shower. I know personally, i usually go out the day before or even the morning OF the shower...
Also, as others have said - Target doesn't update as often as other places do...

Im thinking mine is a week from saturday and i've noticed that no one is buying anything..for a while things were flying off..no it came to a stand still

Aww - thank you! It's true though...i remember freaking out about mine too and then blammo...in the matter of 2 days - things were flying....
The last 3 showers i've attended (bridal or baby) - i've bought the gift the day before or the morning of - seriously...

I feel so much better.....I mean some stuff has been bought (from Macy's) but the majority of our everyday things and stuff we really need is from Target so I was getting nervous! Thanks!!!!!!

hmmm.... you think there is a chance that your bridal shower WON'T be this Saturday???

Anyway, I'm sure it's wishful thinking. But dont worry people always buy stuff at the last minute.

THat is a good point, you don't know for certain that it is this Sat, maybe she is trying to throw you off? I can Target being a last minute stop for people. They may not be taking it off the registry...and shame on you for looking...

maybe one of your Bridesmaids were extra smart and knew that you would be stalking it and made a duplicate registry with ALL of what you wanted on it and told people to buy off that 'dummy' name registry so it would keep you guessing...you would never have a clue what was being bought or when the time was creeping up
