November 24th Wedding
It really does go by in the blink of an eye. It was so much fun.
Bridal Building: I bought my dress in Manhattan. This place was okay. They charged for alterations that they did not do. Unfortunately it was not realized until an hour before the wedding. No biggie. Of course at the time I thought it was a tragedy. But all in all the place was no bargain for me.
IL Sapore: We had the rehearsal dinner here. The place is in Williston Park. It`s an Italian restaurant. The food is to die for and the drink are a drunks` gift from god. They make the most awesome martinis.
East Williston Florist: I dealt with the owner Kevin. He is a family friend so I know I got a good deal price wise. The flowers were a walking hallmark card. I cried when I saw them. My only complaint was that he did not mark the boutonnieres. They were dropped off to the church and my husband and the Best man put on the wrong flowers. I did not notice it until we were in the bridal suite. It just didn`t seem that important at that point.
Timeless Impressions: Tanya is the owner and only photographer. She used to work for one of the top studios on LI, now she mostly runs her own own photo company. She came highly recommended, she was great. She new what she was doing and I don`t think she missed anything. I get my proofs in next week. I cant wait until I se them. My only complaint is that she was a little pushy with my video guy, but he handled it wonderfully.
LCA Video: We booked him 12 days before the wedding. Kinda last minute, His demo was the only one I could actually get through. The others lost my attention. He was more than willing to work on price. He got everything, He told us beforehand when and for what he would need us. Every time I saw something I thought would be great to catch on video, I looked for him and too late he was already on top of it. Never bothered us and waited on the receiving line with all the 100+ guest to say good night to my husband and me. So he was there till the end.
Manor East: Where do I even begin?? The owners words to me when we were thinking about booking him were ' I have no fancy gardens, no ritzy neighborhood, no magic floors, food is how I stayed in business for 30 years. Food and Service'
He was not kidding. PHENOMENAL!!!! We requested some uncommon Italian Dishes. Things that if you really have never cooked you`d probably screw up, not them. It was perfect. The MD was so sweet. She was a huge help. No one had to wait for an ashtray to fill up, or for bottles to pile up on the table.
Variety Music: If the hall had caught on fire it would not have been any hotter in there. The best choice I could have made. I gave them a basic itinerary (on the advice of a bride who posted here) they did everything I asked forgot nothing and even remembered some last minute additions. Friends of ours are going to book them for several events. I highly recommend them.
People said it was great time. I have to agree. My advice: Try to join your cocktil hour. We had almost 185 guests. I said hello to half of them in the cocktail hour. It freed up so much of the reception. I recomended it. Even thought we were in the CH we still did the whole intro thing for the reception itself. On your wedding night, Make sure you stop for food on the way to the hotel, or make sure they have 24hr. room service.
Any questions please let me know. Happy Holidays to all!!!
