Novemberbride- about your vendor question

In regards to wanting your Dad's photo put onto your wedding photos. I am not sure how that will look to be very honest. I know your Dad is ill and you want him at the wedding, but it might seem a bit 'weird' for lack of a better term for him to appear in photos. Perhaps you can take a nice photo with him and your husband when he gets better. Or consider having him send the video company a tape with some nice words to you to slice into your video of the wedding. This is just my opinion of course and you should do what makes you happy. But I wanted to offer the alteranatives.

Re: Novemberbride- about your vendor question

Can you meet with him somewhere before the wedding or afterwards? That way you can take pictures with him even though he is too ill to make it?

Re: Novemberbride- about your vendor question

If you really want to do it, Paul Marino in Massapequa can do it. We met with him when we were searching for photographers and he showed us that very thing! You would never know it wasn't original!

Her dad does not live in NY. I think that is why she wanted this done.

Re: Novemberbride- about your vendor question

My brother actually suggested I do it. My dad is very ill and he won't ever get better. He is at the last stage of his illness which means he could be here for a month or up to 5 years tops. I only wanted to do that to one photo. We thought that is would make him happy.

Re: Novemberbride- about your vendor question

Do you think its not a good idea for me to have me & Jimmy placed on an older photo with him and his wife? I thought it would make him smile. I only wanted to have one picture like that for him. Michele, I also am going to do the other suggestion you had which I think is great:I'm going to have a corsage delivered to him on the wedding day so he can know he's important on our day.

Re: Novemberbride- about your vendor question

Hi Sue, I just think it might seem very sad in a way. I mean, to impose the photo when he isn't there. I know he is very ill and I really wish that wasn't the case.
Have you considered going to see him for the holidays or during the next few months. I would bring your gown with you, Jimmy can rent a tux and maybe you could speak to a local Priest in the area. Why not do a vow-renewal by your Dad's house? Then take a real photo with him. Even if he was in a hospital you could ask the hospital chaplin. I bet your Dad would LOVE to see you in your gown for himself and hear you say your Vows. And you would never have to wish he was with you on your special day because he will be.

Re: Novemberbride- about your vendor question

Thats very sweet, Michele. I'll probably go to visit him in a few months. Perhaps we can have a nice picture taken then.
