Now I'm starting to worry...
The woman I have booked for my wedding is Pauline. She trained Elena I think. Has anyone used her??? How is her makeup? Does she put it on too heavy? I'd like it to look natural some what. I normally don't really wear any mak-up at all. HELP!!! I know a while ago there were a lot of girls here that used her, hopefully some of you are still around. Oh, and I had asked her about a trial for when we come up around the holidays, and she said it wasn't necessary since it's so far in advance from the wedding? She said I could if I really wanted to, but we could wait until a couple of months before the wedding. I'm afraid that if I wait until then for a trial, if for some reason I don't like her, it would be too late to get someone else. AAAAaaahh!!! So many problems. Thanks!

I had a trial with Elena
Elena and Pauline are friends, not sure if she tried her. Have your trial. I am using Elena. I had a trial over a year before my wedding. She was fine with it. You need to talk a lot to the person doing your hair and makeup. You need to talk about what you want for your big day. But you also need to listen. Just putting a dab on blush on and some lipstick is not always the best for photos. These women work with professional photographers everyday and know what looks right in front of the camera. It is all about communication.

I agree with Michele31
You will probably end up wearing more make up for a natural look than you think :o) HOWEVER...the key to a good make up artist is to make you look good in pictures AND in person too. Back when I was still a bride-to-be, I also had concerns about it being too heavy but I went for a trial and I loved how I looked and I was able to wear the trial make up all day in all kinds of lighting and I knew this was how I wanted my wedding make up to look. I used Janet Bari. She is located in Bayside and she was great. She has a website www.jbari.com I highly recommend her. I think Pauline/Elena are popular names here but if they are the bridal assistants who follow you around for a few hours, I don`t know how 'high maintenance' anyone here is but I think it`s a waste. If your make up looks good from the get go, you will not need to add more blush or anything else. I was able to get through my entire day without ant touch ups other than lipstick 1 or 2 times and whenever I used the bathroom, I just made sure nothing was smudged. Good luck. I definitely recommend doing the trial(s) to get an idea of what`s best for you. I was lucky, I only had to do one make up trial (but I did have to do 2 hair trials)Welcome New Vendors
