Now that I am a FREE woman, any good book recommendations?????

Original post by MrsD71208

I haven't read a book for the sake of reading something I was interested in since the SUMMER, thanks to my busy work/college schedule. Can anyone recommend some good reads to me????? TIA!

I am reading 'Under the Banner of Heaven'. It is a true story about Mormon Fundamentalists. It is really interesting and a little freaky. My office does a book club abd this is the book that was chosen. I didn't choose it on my own

My all time favorite book is called: 'Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's childhood pal' By Christopher Moore. I've never laughed out loud from a book until I discovered this author.

I am reading a very good book by Harlan Coban right now called Hold Tight. I have Pattersons new book on my dresser for when I finish this. The other AMAZING book I just read was Water for Elephants. It's being passed around my school and people who like all different kinds of books are loving it. I highly recomend it!!!

Try Angry Housewives Eating Bon-Bons, I forgot the author but I doubt there is more than one book by that name. I read it a few weeks ago and it was so good

Tuesdays with Morrie is a great book. For One More Day is good too. They're both by Mitch Albom. Confessions of a Shopacholic is a fun quick read.

what kind of books do you like to read?

I like mystery books with a twist at th end. I like Chick books too. I also like books that are really well-written, but may be hard to read (like Lovely Bones). I do not like romance novels or sci-fi stuff.

i LOVED all those books - something borrowed and something blue were amazing. and baby proof i read while we were on vaca in Punta Cana and I was SO sad when i finished! i didnt want it to end! i have to admit - after growing so attached to the same characters from the first 2, i was a little disappointed that baby proof started fresh with all new people - but it turned out to be the best one!!! I love her books - emily giffin i think her name is - and supposedly she has another one coming out soon!!! yayyyyyyyy!

i have to say - i cannot agree with you more. A book can have an amazing premise, but if the way it is written annoys me, i simply cannot read it. Authors always have their own way of writing - and i honestly think that Lovely Bones was THE most beautifully and perfectly written book i have read so far. Wonderful story too
