Re: Now that it's over...

Count me as one of those brides! It's been almost a year for me since our wedding, and I keep thinking 'At this time last year, I was...'

You spend all that time and heartache planning your wedding, and the day goes by so fast. Seriously, think about it .. many of us spend at least one year planning all the details .. that's a lot of effort, and to have it come and go in a day's time seems a little unfair!

hmmm - not sure about that! Granted, my day hasn't arrived yet, but I have been planning for about 16 months now, and I'm looking forward to my life getting back to normal!
Don't get me wrong, I've had a great time and can't wait for the big day, but I'm longing for the weekend where FH and I can just hang out, do NOTHING and not have to refer to my daily to-do list! LOL

I have to agree w. Teri. And I am sure I'll feel differently on NOv. 10th!

But I miss my FI and my life as I knew it. I can't wait to be his wife and get on with all the wonderful things we have been looking forward to. It's been tough with the families, stress, work, money - I just want to say those vows, have some bubbly and get on with being a Mrs.!

Jenny - you're getting married on my birthday!

I completely agree - I don't want to downplay the wedding, but it's not the only big day in our lives - maybe some won't understand what I mean, but I'm looking forward to just living as husband and wife, buying our first house, kids, etc!

Re: Now that it's over...

It has just caused such chaos. And I am NOT complaining. I am super excited ...just want to get back to basics maybe. I KNOW I will be crying for my wedding after - but I have my sisters in January and am hoping that fills the void a little.

But me and the FH have been at each other's throats. I just cannot wait to decorate the tree this year with our first year married ornament and know that after nine years...we finally did it!

Re: Now that it's over...

Don't get me wrong, I love our life since we've been married, and I don't miss the stresses that came along with the wedding planning ... I guess we pretty much had a very easy planning phase. We knew exactly what we wanted and didn't do a lot of running around, which was good for me, since I hold down 2 jobs, and hubby always has very odds hours at his work. Most of our vendors were the first and only we looked at .. all but the limos and DJ .. of which we saw three companies each. Even my dress was the 1st and only I tried. What I do miss is the togetherness of everybody. Its not every day you can get so many of those closest to you together for one affair. And it's just really nice to see everything fall together .. all those decisions you'll make, all the little touches you'll put into things .. many people might not notice, but you sure will ... and it will make you happy you went the extra little bit.

The day after Cindy's wedding she told me 'You are going to be so sad when it is over Michele. It goes by too fast' I KNOW I will be sad.

I had a few problems here and there but nothing that caused too much stress. Like Kel said, I loved having everyone that is important together, celebrating our special day. It helped that everyone had a great time too!

Re: Now that it's over...

I might be in the minority, but I am so excited the whole planning of the wedding is over I am glad we did it the way we did, no regrets there, but all the time it took out of my life....I would never do it again. I have my life back to normal now and I am extremly happy being a wife to my loving hubby. I stay on the boards to help where I can, but I do not miss a single thing about wedding planning...YIPEEE!!! The day was beautiful and worth every effort and penny we put into it!!! It was great celebrating with friends and family. I guess the recpetion part I would gladly do again but leave the planning in someone else's hands. If I had it to do again I would fly to Jamaica and do it.
