Now that my wedding has past.. here's my advice to brides..
Ok.1.) Expect things to go wrong!
It's really not that important. You've put so much time and effort into this day, just let it go. No use ruining your mood because you forgot something.
Things that went wrong for us:
-The votive candles were left behind (James at SMCC took care of it)
-Lady fell while entering our ceremony (it was taken care of by near by guests and we went on)
-Flowers were completely wrong! Plus no one stayed to tell us which flowers went to which guys and mothers (who cares? We made it up ourselves, photo guy helped out a lot there)
-Told pastor NOT to say 'In the Grace of God' but he did anyway (My face showed my unhappiness but oh well, there's no rewind on that day so I let it go)
Just let it all go. No one there knows how it was 'supposed' to be (even the LIW girls attending) so just remember, it's your day enjoy it. You've paid too much time and money to not just take it in.
2.) Get up and boogie as quickly as possible! It gets the crowd going. Who cares you can't dance to that song, I couldnt just wiggle your butt, your dress hides the fact you aren't really sure!
3.) If you feel you're not hungry, you're not the only one. Jim and I were NOT hungry but we tried to eat so we could rest and so others saw us having a good time. It was like chewing on cardboard, but we needed the food.
4.) Make the rounds in stages. We did about two table at a time, then a dance, then sat and nibbled on food, then got up and did it again, during the sit down eat part. That way when the food was all done, there was no responsiblity to go out again, plus some folks left after the food.
5.) REMEMBER YOU PAY THESE VENDORS! Don't let them bully you around. If you want to say goodbye to guests and they want video op, too bad. Your guests come first. You pay vendors to wait on you.
6.) Relax and enjoy the moment. No matter what's going on. Jim's sister lost her phone and was freaking out, I just looked at him and said 'not today, it's our day, it will work itself out'.
7.) Stay by your man. Separation is dangerous. You can lose eachother fast.
8.) Be spontaneous. It's your moment of fame. Jim picked me up at the cake cutting and everyone loved it.
9.) DRAG your Bridal party out and others. Go ahead. Who says no to the bride? Go tap on shoulders go pull an arm. Get those bodies moving.
10.) Smile often. You may get tired (we were). We stayed up the night before because we went to see 'the grudge' and got back late, and still had to finish programs. Went to bed at 3:30, woke up at 6:30 to prepare for my hair to be done. I was so Freaking mellow because I was on 3 hours sleep. After a while, you just don't want to smile for a picture 'AGAIN'. Just smile.
11.) make little jokes with your man. These memories are for a lifetime. Share what you see, hear or feel with him. You'd be surprise how much they catch on. Jim and giggled a lot. Sharing jokes and mishaps.
12.) Find time for you with your man the night before. Watching a scary movie the night before was our personal touch since it was a scary movie that started our relationship. If you went to a special place for dinner try that. It was fun to do it again before the big day. We did our 'family meal' two days before the wedding.
I think that's it for now. Hope it's helpful. PS: we forgot our camera. Which was a shame, but oh well! hehe
Motto for every Bride: Just have fun and laugh off the goof ups because THOSE are what make you wedding unique!

Re: Now that my wedding has past.. here's my advice to brides..
TRULY GOOD ADVICE: I especially liked the one with not separating from your man! Because I see that at so many weddings, and it's not their fault, it's the crowd sucking you in! Thanks

Re: Now that my wedding has past.. here's my advice to brides..
So True, you totally have to let go and just enjoy the day, not worry about the vendors doing their jobs and keeping tabs on them, you MUST know that every little detail is not something to get irritated or nit picky about. If so you will be soooo annoyed at little things and not enjoy the big picture!!Welcome New Vendors
