How about... you knew FH was 'the one' when...........

I was sick and he came over with a brand new bed in a bag.
He picked me up out of bed, put me on the chair and made me a whole new bed!!!! We were only dating 3 months but no one has ever done anything like for me before. I've only dated knuckleheads. So for the first time ever, I was treated like a girl should be.

Like Krista, I kind of knew he was the one right away. We met on Match, and as soon as he emailed me I had a feeling. Emails were great, conversations were even better, and our first date amazing. By the time the 3rd date rolled around, I looked into his eyes, and my whole life flashed before me. For the first time in my life, I knew I was in the presence of the man who I'd spend the rest of my life with. Four months later we were living together, and engaged another six months after that.

I think he knew it before I did!!

When we went away for Valentine's weekend to DC last year (at that point we were only dating for a month) and I had this ring on my finger where my e-ring now sits, and he got upset. I asked him what was wrong, and he said 'I don't want to see a ring on that finger unless I'm the one to put it there!'

I realized it when one morning I had to call out sick from work after having a life threatening allergy attack, and he drove out while he was supposed to be working just to check up on me. That, and he survived a christening 2 months into dating, even though he's jewish!!!

I had a huge family issue right after we started dating and he acted like he had been in my family forever-and then right after that I ended up getting him really sick and sending him to the hospital-and then I had surgery-this was all in the first 3 months of us being together....and not once did he ever complain or leave my side...

He is the best!~

I knew he was the one a few months into dating. It was Christmas time and all I kept thinking about was future Christmases we would spend together.

This is a much harder question to answer. I think I knew on our very first date. I had asked him over for dinner. I left work early that day and was a nervous wreck. Sure we had know each other for quite a while and hung out every week, but this was a 'date' so it was different. I was afraid we wouldn't have much to talk about (don't ask why, just one of those first date nervous jitter things), so dinner was ready to be put on the table the second he walked in the door. We sat down and started talking, and I had to reheat everything before we could eat b/c the conversation went on so long. It continued well after dinner, and before the night was over he had asked me out on a second date. Our fourth date was Valentine's Day. I DEFINATELY knew by then. During brunch (double date with friends) I just couldn't stop smiling, and when my girlfriend and I left the boys at the table to head to the bathroom, I told her he was the one.

when i had a bad skiing fall and didn't want to ski anymore, and he left the ski mountain with me and went outlet shopping. I was SO upset, and he made me feel 100% better (and wasn't upset at all about missing 1/2 a day of skiing!)

We were in college and I was the one away from home, he was a commuter student... I was so sick... ha the flu and bronchitis, and the school 'doctor' would not see me without an appt. WHATEVER, so he called around and found somewhere to take me... took me back to his house and I stayed there for days while he took complete care of me, saw me at my worst, his family was sweet and helped me and I know this was the guy!

I knew he was the one before we even started dating! He and I were roommates and friends, but nothing more at that point. I had just found out that the boyfriend (whom I had four years) that I just broke up with was dating someone new already. I was pretty upset, and he insisted on taking me out to cheer me up. He bought me this adorable little lion stuffed animal to make me smile.

After he spent an entire day cheering me up, he made me dinner and told me I deserved someone that would treat me like a princess. I realized that he already treated me like a princess and we weren't even together...

He still treats me like a princess two years later

he went away on a camping trip and I couldn't stop staring at his picture and I felt like a part of me was missing ...and we were only together for a couple of weeks at that time!

We had been dating for 2 years (but we were only 19 & 2). I was having severe lower abdominal pains, and went to my university health center. After a checkup at the health center, and a negative preggo test, they sent me home and told me that if it got any worse, to go to the ER.

Well that evening, it DID get worse. Rich drove from Cortland to Albany in about 2 hours (unheard of - it's usually 2.5-3 hrs.) and took me to the ER. After waiting with me allllll night, while I was poked, prodded, etc with legs spread open for the world to see, I was left alone in a room. They were short-staffed, and hadn't gotten around to getting me my cathetar yet. They scared the CRAP out of us with the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy, but then came to the conclusion (after external AND internal ultrasound) that I had ruptured several ovarian cysts.

I was jacked full of morphine, and I could barely stand up, but i had to pee sooooooo badly. Rich CARRIED ME TO THE BATHROOM, and held me over the toilet while I peed. (He knows my phobia of public toilet seats - he didn't let an inch of my skin touch the seat!). Over the next few days, he stayed with me and made sure I stayed hydrated, fed me, brought me blankets, took them off when I was warm, etc. Held my hair while I puked from the vicodin, even held me up in the shower when I was too weak to stand up. Amazing, amazing, amazing.

I can't believe that a 20yr old guy was sooooo amazing in a situation like that - I never looked at him the same way again. At that very moment, I knew it was going to be FOREVER.

I knew he was the one...

when we were in Greece and I couldn't fully express myself to my grandmother,of course his language skills helped him out but what really did it was the way he jumped up to help her out of her chair when she would say she was in pain and was havnig a hard time getting up, etc.

I knew he could be the one on our first date. It was a Sunday night and I had to work the next morning. He picked me up around 4pm and didn't drop me off until 2am:) It was the best date I ever had!

I knew he was definitely the one when we were at a wedding and the song from American Wedding came on 'She's so pretty' and he actually DANCED with me - in the middle of the dance floor and we were the only two out there!

I knew he was the one when:

1) We met on a Thursday night, I was moving into a new apt that weekend and he offered to help me!

2) He was going out of town for business the first week we met and said he would call me from half way across the country, well HE CALLED!

3) On our first official date his car broke down and he took the train out to Long Island to meet me!

4) On our first date he asked me that night to a wedding for one of his best friends that wasn't for a few months

And..he is truly my best friend!
