Nuptial Mass Invite Wording

Nuptial Mass Invite Wording

Hi girls,

Is anyone having a full Nuptial Mass? How is your invite worded? This is what I am thinking:

Mr. and Mrs. X
request the honour of your presence
at the Nuptial Mass at which their daughter
Mary
and
John
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Y
will be united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony
Saturday, the fourth of October
Two thousand fourteen
Three o'clock in the afternoon
Saint Joseph Church
Garden City, New York

Thoughts/comments/suggestions?

I am having one but haven't given the wording on the invite thought yet! Am curious to know myself. I think the ones I've been to have just said 'at the marriage of'

Same here. I researched a little bit. Originally it was going to be 'at the Nuptial Mass uniting their daughter...' but apparently the mass is not what unites the couple, the sacrament is what unites the couple. So I tweaked the wording.

Ours says:

Together with their families
(name) and (name)
request the honor of your presence
at their wedding celebration*
on Saturday, the Twenty-Ninth of March
Two Thousand and Fourteen
Half past two o'clock in the afternoon
at St Catherine of Sienna
Franklin Square, New York

* they lady that helped us said we could use marriage celebration or Wedding.

I think this sounds perfect, it's a bit formal for my style lol but I believe it achieves the formal, elegant, and religious tones you hoped to have. The wording is all that without sounding too old fashioned. Mind you I have no clue what its *supposed* to say technically, lol but who cares about the rules!

The only other way that would work is if you wanted it shorter then you could say:

Mr. and Mrs. X
request the honour of your presence as their Daughter
Mary Middlename
is united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony to
John Full Name
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Y

Saturday, the fourth of October
Two thousand fourteen
Three o'clock in the afternoon
Saint Joseph Church
Garden City, New York

That takes out the Nuptial Mass part which condenses the wording, but either works really.

Mr. and Mrs. X

request the honour of your presence

at the marriage of their daughter

X

to

X

son of Mr. and Mrs. X

on Friday, the ninth of May

Two thousand fourteen

at half past two in the afternoon

Saint Joseph’s Parish

Kings Park, New York

wording for my invitation..doesn't address whether its a mass or a ceremony. Didn't even realize and don't think its a big deal. this is exactly how the invitation was worded on the sample.
