Nursery Furniture Set

Nursery Furniture Set

What do you think of this set?
They also make it in white and a dark cherry, which I don't think I like as much. DH and were not going to buy any nursery furniture except for a glider/ottaman since most sets are quite expensive and we were getting hand me downs anyway. Well, a family member told DH yesterday that we should register for a nursery set b/c he wants to buy it for us!!! How nice is that?!?! So, of course I went right to BRU to scan away!

Re: Nursery Furniture Set

I just went to the website...and there are NO prices by the furniture

Re: Nursery Furniture Set

Diane, that means you cannot afford it, you must go in for the price j/k but when i see things like that, it always make me wonder why

Re: Nursery Furniture Set

There are no prices, but at BRU it's
$400 crib
$400 chest
$550 change table/dresser

This is a little more than some other sets I saw, but cribs are typically $300 and the changing table/dresser also start at $300-400. That is why we weren't going to buy a set ourselves, but thanks to our generous relative, we might actually have this whole set!

Re: Nursery Furniture Set

Niha, now with spending all this money, how long in to a child's life can they sleep in this?? Aren't there any out there that can then be converted in to a growing child's bed?? That is a lot of mula

Re: Nursery Furniture Set

My friend has one that converts into a bed. It is pricey...but in the long run it is worth it.

Re: Nursery Furniture Set

Diane, I would prefer to spend the extra money to get a bed that is going to go much longer in to the child's life than this crib and changing table, soo they will not need to be changed on that, too big, they will have so much clothes it won't fit etc. I guess when my time comes I will have to see what's out there.

Re: Nursery Furniture Set

I agree Shamma. My friend didnt buy a changing table either. She just has a short dresser, and put the pads on top.

So many choices, so little money

Re: Nursery Furniture Set

The bed turns into a toddler bed, so I guess until 4 or 5 you can have the child in it. My SIL just recently bought her 6 yo a new bed, but up until now, she was in the converted crib/toddler bed.

If we weren't getting this as a gift I would have taken my SIL's old crib and my old dresser from my childhood from my father's house and used that as a chaning table. I would have put the same contour changing pad on top.

Re: Nursery Furniture Set

I guess I better get friendly with a preggo lady to see if when my time comes they want to pass it down to us. Some people are sentimental about this stuff tho, they never want to give it up. I guess I could take it as a loaner too. If any of my GF are willing to part with theirs I am a willing taker.

I think it is beautiful Niha. Don't buy a crib based on low-cost anyway. You need to feel the how sturdy it is, quality etc.... If this is the set you want then you should register for it.
Not sure about converter cribs since you many want another child and need the crib again.
Shamma- trust me you will want to buy your own set because it is your first baby and it is too much fun picking it all out.
