Yes it is absolutely possible. Really stick to the program and eat lots of veggies and do lots of cardio. Weight training is important too. You'll see the difference!

WW core is amazing! I lost 3 pounds the first week & it hardly feels like a diet- I definately think you can do it!

FH and I have been on South Beach for the past 5 weeks... it has done wonders. He is already skinny and he lost 7 lbs in the first two weeks! I lost 7 lbs as well. My sister & her bf started it 2 weeks ago and she lost 5lbs and he has lost almost 20! In 2 weeks! And that is without working out at all. I think if you truly stick to it, it can work really well.

I love South Beach! I need to get back to following the diet more closely. I don't know how much I've lost anymore because I've slipped for a bit because of moving. I was doing great in the beginning and FH said you could really see the difference in my body.

The only reason I was thinking Weight Watchers, is becouse they help you south beach diet seems more on your own

I joined South Beach online and I communicate with a dietitian through e-mail. I didn't like the group embarrassment of WW, but I gained weight with them.

Could be hard but it depends on your weight. You dont need to share this information but thought you should know that some people lose easier than others due to their total weight..

Anyway, I totally think you can do it. What type of workout do you do at the gym? Do you run?

Also stick to WW and go to the meetings (dont drop off after 1 or 2 months)!

I also like Southbeach too....it forces you to eat good food...which I think WW core does too. WW points is good too but sometimes people subsitute junk for healthy foods!

PS - You will lose fast on any of these diets....it is water weight! SB occurs alot faster because of the cutting of bad carbs in the first 2 weeks.

Re: Nutrisystem Weight Watchers Soth Beach!

Can i be honest with u, 100%??

Weight wathers is going to give u the tools and skills u need for a lifestyle change. you need to be open with ur leader and tell them all your health issues so they can adjust to your personal need accordingly.

You have to journal if u do points - write everything down. rememebr that its a lifestyle change and not a diet - withot that it wont work. Its discipline.

Im telling you this bc you said something thats totally what i have said before - that u want to lose 40lbs in 5 months. You can lose that doing anything, but you need to make smaller more realistic goals. THats one of the first things a leader will talk to you and teach you about. Big goals fail - and i would hate to see that happen to you - bc whaat we want and how our body processes and reacts are 2 different things - and plateaus are common and they suck - but they do occur and when we set huge goals - thats when we go off program. I did ot before and continually have done it - out of depression and frustration. Its a vicious cycle

Find a leader that works for you. I had a leader in selden Lynn, and she was phenominal - i loooved her and she moved to georgia last year. I havent been able to find a leader i have liked and connected with since and my lifestlye has suffered.

vary what u eat - i will go bac on program and eat nothing but tuna - and my body becomes used to it and then i dont lose. Their website is awesome for recipes.

SUPPORT SUPPORT SUPPORT - we have a thread on here - use it! Its like a special club where we all take care of each other - if ur in my area id go to meetings with u - working with other people can double ur loss - and success rates have been proven to be higher and more successful with a buddy.

But this will change ur life - and u have to stay committed to it - its not a diet but a lifestyle change!

I wish u the best of luck and am happy and excited for you - please join in the WW thread and talk to us, FM me for anyting. I have a lot of food issues and am an emotional overeater and this progam saved me - sounds sappy but true - im a small girl and started having weight related health problems and self esteem issues - and this has been the biggest life saver!

I think WW is the most realistic one of all of them. I think it really is a lifestyle change and helps out so much. I am the worst eater in the world and this has helped me out so much! I feel so much better! 5 months is a good time frame to get going, and if you really truly stick with it you can reach your goal...

definitly if you follow it right. I did WW and I lost weight. It was easy too!! Also depending on what you weigh thats how you can determine what you will lose..If you physically only need to lose 5 pounds it will be tough to get off

Re: Nutrisystem Weight Watchers Soth Beach!

Linda -- im sorry your so unhappy and having a hard time!

Maybe if you go to WW you'll be able to find other diabetics that are having success.

And dont think your not the only one struggling - my dress is very very tight (almost doesnt fit) so i joined WW 3 weeks ago and have only lost 1.6 total! Unfortunately i think part of the problem is being in my 30s has really slowed my metabolism!!

But i know from past expereince you have to find the right combination of eating / excerising that works for you - and then you'll achieve your goal.

Good luck sweetie!!

I was also wondering if you would consider hiring a personal trainer- I go to Lucille Roberts & I hired one (it was $300 for 12 sessions) and it really has been making the pounds come off faster
