NWR: 100,000 dollar MISTAKE

Oh wow.....this concerns one of our 05 brides

today in the GMB thread, jennandrob told us her fmil won 100,000 dollars in the daily news scratch and match yesterday

tonight, the wb news reported that the Daily news and the co that made the cards have made a mistake and many of the scratch and match winners actually are not

I so hope thats not the case with jenn ......please let us know ok?

Somehow (?!) they misprinted the numbers to scratch off

Oh no!!! They should have to pay the winners something anyway as compenysation. Its not the 'winners' fault they screwed up!!

I hope Jenn isnt involved!

oh its not just her...its hundreds of people.....you can kinda see why daily news CANt pay them all

sorry to intrude on the '05 board, but OMG...my MIL told us today that her cousin won $100,000 on Saturday's ticket!! I just called her to break the news...that really stinks!

That's absolutely ridiculous. I have a feeling if they don't compensate these people somehow that they're going to have a lot of lawsuits on their hands.

i was wondering the same thing.

i work in the daily news building, as well as jennandrob. the security told me that all the news truck is around the block.

Hey guys...FMIL is DEFINITELY one of those people who 'thought' they won $100,000.

It was heartbreaking to see her so happy, then completely deflated.

That stinks.

As far as the lawsuits go, from what I have read it states in the official rules that if the wrong #s are printed there is a random drawing of the people that thought they won to really win, so I don't know if lawsuits would really work

when i go home, i'm going to read the offical rules. some people from what i'm hearing don't care what the rules say, they want the money

Hey girls...sorry to intrude on the 05 board but just wanted to say.

My FMIL also was one of the $100,000 winners. We went to the claim center this morning. It was a MOB SCENE. I would say at least 1,000 ppl at a minimum with minning tickets. On guy had $500, $1,000, $10,000 and $100,000 winning tickets. It was unbelievable. Media all over the place and scores of screaming ppl. The employess were asking ppl to hand in their tickets for a chance to be placed in a drawing for 1 winner. Basically, asking to hand over the only 'proof' that they won. Ppl were talking about class action lawsuits.

Now Daily News says the random drawing might not be such a good idea considering how many winners there are. They are still trying to work out a solution. I'd like to see how they are gonna clear this one up!
